RE: Looking To Buy Steem Or Steem Dollars Direct (Steem Monsters Market - Adding Rare Monsters)

in #steemmonsters6 years ago

ok cool... yes quite a few have mentioned that... I will try to open a bittrex account tomorrow... that is awesome! And I didn't mean a literal tax, I just mean that the 10% toll that is taken by blocktrades both in and out is like a tax... I didn't know that bittrex could go direct to steemit wallets.

Thanks for the info, I will try to get started with them tomorrow!

Sort:

I think they charge a 0.1 steem flat transaction fee to withdraw. And it's almost instaneous.

I got it done... Even got a coinbase account opened too... I have to wait the 6 days to transfer the ETH over to bittrex, but I'm now able to transact... Thanks for the help and encouragement!

it looks like you timed it about right.... I am doing some myself now and learned something in this whole process too... glad to get the help from everyone.

You got a 50.00% upvote from @payforplay! Please consider delegating steem power to @payforplay. We are currently sharing 100% of our profits with our delegators. That's correct, 100%! It doesn't get better than that. It is essentially running your own bid bot without doing any of the work. Steem power can be delegated here: https://steembottracker.com/delegation.html

@ilovepoorpeople yes tomorrow is a big day... I will know how it all worked out soon!

I'm very impressed that it was as quick for you to get it all set up... you did it all in less than a week... very good turnaround imo!

@ilovepoorpeople yes it was good. I'm a bit surprised it happened so smoothly after I got the understanding of how it worked.

yes me too... I loved it... I 'll help you if you need it.

@ilovepoorpeople cool... thanks I appreciate that and you have always been there ;)

Good to hear!

I tend to use Kraken to make my initial purchases. (I occasionally use coinbase but they charge much more); then I transfer to btrx then buy btc thn steem.

Its all a bit complex but we get there in the end.

@revisesociology ut ohhh I am using coin base and bittrex... Maybe I will look at karken next... Hell I don't know how everyone keeps up with all these passwords and codes... Since I started stemmit I have like 25 different sets of things I have to remember and write down, and then remember where I wrote them down 😱

Kraken has much lower fees, although you have transfer in from your bank which costs about £10, so I only use them when I can afford to buy more than £500 of crytpo.

I just have a handful of passwords and cycle them, occasionally expiring an old one and making up a new one.

Or you could get a password manager, also 2FA?

where do you get your receiving address of steemit to send it from bittrex to your steemit account? I have the steem now in bittrex, now getting it to steemit is the last step ;)

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks :)

You need to put your steemit public memo key in the 'tag' line and then your steemit user name without the @ in the 'address line' -

It's not exactly an obvious procedure I know. You'll probably have to verify the withdrawal via email too (just clicking a link).

awesome! Worked like a charm :) ... Thank you so much that is such a helpful hint... I finally got this done and you've been a big help! :)

do you get this message from @testwallet everytime you do this? if so, do you change your password and memo key everytime?

It appears you have exposed your private MEMO key as a memo in a recent transfer. We suggest changing your password before another user can maliciously use it; reading any encrypted messages sent to your account, or pretending to be you on services such as Minnow Booster.

And one more question when you have time (sorry to be a pain) ... :P

How do I send steem out of my account to bittrex? What is the intuitive way to do that :D
