The unboxing
I know I am a bit late to the unboxing party but I didn't have internet for a while because of the move so I figured better late than never right!?! When I first joined steemit I stumbled across the 2017 steemit silver rounds and thought they were really cool so I did my best to track a few down to buy, those 2017 steemit rounds were the first pieces of silver I had ever bought in my life and I was instantly hooked on stacking. I found the group that created and minted them, a group called #steemsilvergold, if it isn't obvious from the name they are a group of precious metal collectors here on steemit. They have been a huge support to me here on steemit and have helped me to stay interested in stacking with all the cool posts and raffles they do in the tag.
Anyhow, when I heard they were doing another steemit silver round in 2018 I knew I wanted to continue the collection so I a parted with some of my hard earned steem and bought 4 of the 2018 rounds. Since then it has been a waiting game, until last week when they finally showed up in the mail and they were surely worth the wait! Look at these beautiful rounds!
Here is a close up of it, such detail.
One side is the same as the first years round, just a steemit symbol. The new side is the tree.
Here is a picture with the 2017 and the 2018 steemit rounds side by side.
If you don't have a 2018 steemit round don't worry, there are quite a few of them making their way around steemit. Between raffles, giveaways and possibly even purchasing them you still have a chance to get your hands on one. Just don't wait to long or you might miss out.
A special shout out to @sevinwilson and all the great people at #steemsilvergold for making this years silver rounds possible, you guys are all heros in my book! #NotAllHerosWearCapes
So mine have now been shipped - due to holiday of me - and I will be the last I guess. Thx for showing !
wowee... those are some nice lookin' coins.
:)
Thanks bro! 😁
Wooo!! I am glad you have received your rounds!! They sure are pretty, aren't they? I'm so happy you have become a stacker now!!
Hell yeah, me too bro!! And yes they are gorgeous!!
Thanks again for all your hard work on this project, I know it was no small task and you kicked ass.
As for stacking, yeah, I am right around 200 oz now! Not bad for less than 1 year of stacking. ;)
It was a hell of a lot of fun! I will feel at ease once all rounds have arrived at their final destination!
That is super impressive! These low silver prices make it a great place to accumulate!!
Hell yeah it does, I guess I have been pretty lucky on that. Prices have been fairly low since I started stacking and since I stack mostly big bars I don't usually have to pay much over spot. I know coins are way cooler but they are kind of a pain in the ass to tote around if you have a bunch of them.. lol..
I am glad you enjoyed putting this all together, that makes me feel a bit better with all the work you put into it. Do you think you will be in charge of it again next year?
I think bars are a good way to go if you’re stacking purely for ounces! I like the 10 ounce bars as I feel the 100 ounce bars are almost too heavy!
I do believe I’ll take charge and run it again next year! Luckily the website is already in place and I learned a lot from doing it this year!
How much do they cost in steem and how do I buy em @sevinwilson?
Now that's a cool way to start your silver stacking journey. The 2017 #steemsilverround will be quite the collector item in a few years time. Hopefully the 2018 edition didn't put @sevinwilson off too much and he continues to produce them year after year (with the help of #steemsilvergold of course). Once the world realises the series of coins is available the premiums for the early ones will sky rocket.
P.s. I don't know who designed the 2018 #steemsilverround but rumour has it he's an incredibly good looking man.... I can neither confirm nor deny this rumour.
Never really had much interest cause I didn't really understand it. Your explanation and recommendation has certainly sparked my interest
I know it can be rather confusing at first, glad I could help. Even if you aren't a silver collector they are a pretty cool steemit memorabilia.. :)
