My 2018 Steem Silver Round has arrived!
Anyone who is following a silver stacker here on the Steem blockchain has surely seen a lot of talk about the 2018 Steem Silver Rounds lately, and after a few days of waiting my round safely arrived at my mailbox here in Norway. As I expected, it took a bit longer for it to reach Norway compared to those who live in the United States, but I think it got here within 11 days, which is pretty good compared to some other packages that I've gotten from the US.
I agree with everyone who says that the design looks even better in real life than it does on pictures, so I hope you guys were able to get your hands on one or more of these as well.
For those who don't know about the Steem Silver Rounds, it's basically a project by the silver community here on Steem where people can submit a design proposal, and the community decides which one to print. This year's design was done by @welshstacker, and as you can see, the result was amazing!
The project itself was lead by @sevinwilson, so give this man a follow if you would like to stay up-to-date with the 2019 Steem Silver Round. It's unfortunately too late to buy a 2018 round unless you find one at the secondhand market.
I only ordered one round myself, which I kind of regret when I see other people who bought bigger stacks. Each round cost $23.50, which is not really a bad price for an ounce of silver with such a great design, but I would have had to pay a lot of extra tax on them if I would have ordered more than one. So that's pretty much why I decided against it, and maybe I will pick up a few extra for the next year's round.
I'm not really a big silver stacker myself, and I only own a few rounds and coins, but it's really cool to see what a big silver and gold community that we have here on Steem. I'm definitely getting tempted to get some more silver after having followed a few silver stackers, so I might just put in an order for some coins soon enough.

It sure does! Shipping to Norway was $16, so almost 75 % of the price of the round itself. But it would probably have been the same even if I ordered more.
I guess you're right. I will keep my eyes open for the new batch of rounds. I missed this one but I really like to get my hands on one. Thanks for the tip!
It's probably 9 months or so until we can order next year's round :( I should probably make a post about it before it's too late to order one next year, because I see that a lot of my followers have totally missed out on this.

It's unfortunate that it's too late to get them already. I felt the same way about missing the 2016 coin. Next year I will make sure to write a post before it's too late to order one, because I see that a lot of the people I interact with here on Steem also missed it :(

It's too late to order them; they were only for sale during a pre-order. But maybe someone who bought many of them are looking to sell? I'd check places like eBay.

Yeah, it's definitely a cool piece to own. I guess it will be 9-10 months before the next one is ready for order, so at least we got a long time to collect some Steem in the mean time :)

I feel pretty great about getting it kind of fast, especially when I see people who write that they still haven't gotten it. Or even worse, people like @welshstacker who got into a lot of issues with getting his.
Sometimes customs let’s things go right there and other times they stop it up! The smaller packages they let through easier!
That's a good point. I'm not even sure if they opened my package, but I was just below the $50 limit on importing stuff without paying VAT.

It would probably be nice for the @babsboard auction, but sadly I only bought 1, so I will keep this for myself. Next year I will order a few more, and then I can auction one away ;)
