If you take a look at our latest post (https://steemit.com/steemskate/@steemskate/summer-is-over-steemskate-is-back-roadmap-and-steemskate-token) you'll see that @Steemskate is gonna launch the first SKATE TOKEN on Steem Blockchain soon.
We would like to share with you some information about the @steemskate project.

History lessons

The idea of Steemskate was first captured by @web-gnar. @Web-gnar thought it would be cool to start a skate contest for those few skaters that have signed up on Steem at that time.

The contests still keep going and they never stopped. A year later, @web-gnar passed the Steemskate torch on me (@knowhow92) cause he was so busy and couldn't manage to be so active on Steem. A few months later, the @steemskate page was created in order to Resteem and Curate all skateboarding posts on our blockchain. The only "rule" in order to get curated by @steemskate is to use the #steemskate tag under your post.
It's been almost a year since Steemskate has been curating skate content actively and we don't plan on stopping anytime soon. More than 100 skate posts are uploaded every month on Steem and are resteemed and curated by us!

The Steemskate Token

Times are changing and we all have to adapt in order to evolve. That is exactly what @steemskate is about to do.
We are gonna be launching our own token via https://steem-engine.com/#

What is https://steem-engine.com/#

Steem Engine is a smart contracts side-chain platform for the Steem blockchain. This means that it can execute custom smart contracts based on data published to the Steem blockchain. This allows us to do things that are not currently supported by the Steem blockchain, such as creating custom tokens, or literally anything else achievable with a smart contract.

Steem-Engine makes it possible for anyone to create his/her own token, distribute it and buy or sell it on their internal DEX (Decentalized exchange). That's exactly what Steemskate is going to do.
We are gonna create 30,000,000 SKATE Tokens and issue 1/5 of these Tokens (6,000,000) on September 10.

• 10% will be distributed via a monthly share to people who delegate to @steemskate(600,000)

• 20% will be distributed to skaters and supporters of our community that keep the fire burning(1,200,000)

• 30% will be held by @steemskate(1,800,000) from which 800,000 of them will be available for trading on Steem-Engine Market after the token launch

• 10% will be distributed as bounty to people who will promote @steemskate on Steem and on other Social Media Platforms(600,000)

• 30% will be used to reward contest winners, skaters who sign up and people who onboard their friends(1,800,000)

We will be minting 6,000,000 SKATE TOKENS every year on September 10.

We do not expect to get rich by creating the SKATE Token. It's just a way to thank our supporters through these 2 years and a fun way to tip our friends and people we like.

Delegation info

Delegators will be receiving a certain ammount from the minted tokens meant for them (600,000) monthly depending on the ammount of SP they delegated.That means that they will share 50,000 tokens monthly (600,000 / 12 months = 50,000). The higher the delegation, the more tokens on your Steem-Engine wallet.
The Steem Power Delegated to us will be used to vote exclusively skateboarding content and give all skaters the appropriate support. Whether we like it or not, a big upvote is a huge motivation.

Steemskate Bounty Contest

We will be giving 10,000 SKATE TOKENS for free. Here is what you have to do :

• Write a blog post or film a video talking about us (@steemskate). You can talk about your personal experience with Steemskate, about the people you met or if you just found out about us you can just spread the word that the SKATE TOKEN will be launching soon.
• Use #Steemskate as your first and #Skatetoken as your second tag
• Your Blog must be more than 200 words and videos must be over 1 minute
• Link you post to your social media and post a screenshot bellow. That can be Twitter, facebook, instagram etc.

The deadline for Steemskate Bounty Contest will be on September 8.
People who participated will be sharing 10,000 SKATE TOKENS.

Our goal

As a skater for the last 15 years, I was never able to make a buck out of skateboarding. Times are changing and Steem is the only place where I was able to do so. Our goal is that every skater can have a "standard" income by sharing his skate skills with us. We want to create a skateboarding family where we all support each other with our votes so that anyone can at least buy his skate gear with his Steem income. You can call it "Sponsorship".
I don't think that this is an easy task but as long as we have the support of the Steem community everything is possible.
