In the mind of a rapist - or a sexual harasser.

Wanna talk seriously? Let's talk seriously.

Rape or sexual aggression or sexual harassment shouldn't happen. And most of the times, the victims are women. But you know why we let it happen?

Workplace

Because it's happening in the workplace. And we can't afford to get fired. So the boss or colleague is taking advantage of the situation, sure about our silence.

I hope the state confiscates all of your money.

Family

Because the person who does it is a family member or friend. We can't think of living in shame. So we let them do as they please.

Also, whoever you are, you need to know that you're disgusting.

Marriage [or Relationship]

And what if what happens within marriage? Oh yeah right, then it doesn't count 'cause we have to please the husband because you know we just HAVE to [plus what to do with the kids...], right? NO!

Rape within marriage is a real thing. Just because we're married it doesn't mean I should bent over whenever you feel like it. End of story.

Alcohol

'She was drunk, she was asking for it' - NO man. Just NO.

Taking advantage of a drunk woman doesn't make you more of a man. Most likely it just makes you less of a man - that's what you are with no balls.

Dress code

'Come on...you're wearing a mini skirt...' - Oh yeah? And how does that mean that you can touch me?

Only looking, NO TOUCHING unless given permission you pervert.

I was once with a 'good guy' - everyone would say so. When he hit me, not even my best friend really believed what happened. Because you know, I was the bitch and he was the angel. And yet, I couldn't open my mouth of a week and my jaw was seriously damaged. And for what?

Because I wanted to leave him.

Guilt, fear and emotional blackmailing shouldn't be reasons to let anyone do that to you. Speak up, step up, report the bastard and just LEAVE.

No one has the right to take your smile away. Always remember that.

I feel so sad thinking about women keeping silent because of the feeling of shame or because of fear. It also makes me angry! This is so wrong and bad😡

I know right?
And you might have gotten me by now - I'm not one of those. BUT STILL, when I did speak up about incidents, they wouldn't believe me.
Besides what I describe here, I was once very aggressively sexually harassed by a guy who was interviewing me for a job. I was only 19 - and I didn't know any better. It was for a secretary position at a Music School. He made me do minor stuff - I was stunned. I couldn't say no, or move. I was frozen and shocked. So I told my boyfriend at the time who was a COP. You know what he said? ''How were you dressed?'' ..... It was a FUCKING JOB INTERVIEW YOU THINK I WENT WITH MY LINGERIE????? I broke up with him a while after the incident. NO SHAME - NO FEAR - NO SILENCE! And fuck whoever doesn't believe you.

that's an amazing story and cheers to your clarity

Exactly because it was a personal experience and I'm not just telling someone else's hypothetical story, I'm being very blunt - and still feel the exact same way 14 years later. Like seriously. Your cop boyfriend doubting you? That's why most raped women in Greece don't even bother going to report it because they'll get THAT attitude. Well no thanks -maybe some of us are weak, but I'm not going to stand and take this. :(

Yes, no one has the right to take a smile of a woman. We need to be treated well and be respected. Those who are facing sexual harassment should please summon courage to fight the fear and win by staking the right step.

@seyiodus.

Great to see a Steem women page on Steemit! All of the above is very true, which is why I'm proud to see more and more women speak out, like with #metoo, but also filing cases against 'powerful men' who often get away with it all.

Thank you @soyrosa and you're welcome to join us if you like!
@steemsugars are not particularly about that [we kinda differ from the metoo movement] but mostly about bringing more ladies to the platform - although, this post was certainly a try to bring awareness!

I can agree on 'more ladies' on here \0/
