232/365, The cat that did not see the Veternarian, แมวที่ไม่ได้ไปหาสัตวแพทย์

(Sitting all alone while the other two cats are at the hospital)
On Monday morning, my gardener shouted while arriving on motor bike that the cat came out of the bamboo cage. I rushed downstairs to see that the smallest cat was sitting outside the cage. The mother cat and her bigger daughter were still inside. We took off the green curtain which we covered the cage to find out how one cat could free herself.

We found a small gap at the top of the cage with cat’s hair around the bamboo. So, all the cats must have been trying to get out through the holes. Only the smallest one could squeeze through this small gap. Now, Jilly has to eat all by herself and be on her own for two weeks until I could fetch her mother and sister from the vet.

เช้าวันจันทร์เราได้ยินเสียงคนสวนเข้ามากับมอเตอร์ไซด์พลางตะโกนว่า แมวหลุดออกจากกรง ทำให้เรารีบลงไปดูก็เห็นแมวตัวเล็กสุดนั่งอยู่ใกล้ๆกรงไม้ไผ่ เราช่วยกันเอาผ้าคลุมสีเขียวออก แม่แมวกับลูกตัวโตยังนั่งอยู่ในกรง. เราพบว่าแมวหนีออกมาโดยการลอดออกทางโพรงเล็กๆที่หลังคากรง ตรงมุมนี้มีขนแมวติดอยู่กระจุกหนึ่ง เราไม่สามารถจับลูกแมวตัวที่หนีออกมาสู่อิสรภาพได้ ก็ต้องเอาแมวสองตัวไปหาคุณหมอก่อน ตอนนี้เจ้าจิลลี่ต้องกินข้าวตัวเดียวและเล่นตัวเดียวไปก่อน จนกว่าเราจะไปรับแมวสองตัวกลับมาจากโรงพยาบาลสัตว์.

233/365, Trapped in Bangkok, ติดกับดักในกรุงเทพฯ

This is quite a contrast to the river view from my garden-house in the northeast. As I was trying to find a parking space on the seventh floor of the building, I happened to find this view on my way into the building. It looks like some old low rise buildings are trapped among the high rises and skyscrapers in Bangkok. The old buildings have no more space to expand side way, they could only extend upwards. If they wanted more working space, the old buildings would have to be pulled down to be replaced by new skyscrapers! If there is a widespread blackout of electricity or earthquakes nearby, those people in these buildings will be sharing their sufferings in these circumstances. This reminds me of the presence of risks and uncertainty in our life!

ภาพนี้ค่อนข้างจะตรงข้ามกับภาพวิวแม่นํ้าที่เห็นได้จาก หน้าต่างที่บ้านสวนที่อีสาน เราต้องหาที่จอดรถบนตึกสูง กว่าจะหาได้ต้องวนถึงชั้นเจ็ด ตอนเดินหาทางเข้าตัวอาคารเราบังเอิญเห็นวิวนี้ ทำให้คิดว่าตึกเก่าไม่ถึงห้าชั้นนั่นเหมือนถูกกับดักรอบด้านด้วยตึกระฟ้า ไม่สามารถขยับขยายได้เลยรอบด้าน ถ้าต้องการพื้นที่เพิ่มก็ต้องทุบตึกเก่าทิ้ง แล้วสร้างตึกระฟ้ามาแทนที่ คราวนี้ทุกตึกก็มีความเสมอภาคในด้านความสูง และความทันสมัย แต่ถ้าเกิดไฟดับทั่วเมือง หรือเกิดแผ่นดินไหวกระเทือนถึงเมืองหลวง ทุกคนในตึกสูงๆและ ตึกระฟ้าก็จะถูกกับดักอย่างเท่าเทียมกัน ความเสี่ยงมีอยู่ทุกแห่ง เหมือนกับความไม่แน่นอนของชีวิต
