99 reasons why earthships are fuc!*ing awesome: Part #1- Reasons 1-10

Would you be interested to hear of a way out? A way that you can sacrifice nothing, and gain true freedom. A world where being poor is no longer criminalised, and where money barely even matters anymore. Then welcome to Earthship Biotecture!
This is a new paradigm, a completely alternative way to live and be in this modern world, and in my opinion the only way that makes any sense at all!
Earthship Biotecture has to be one of the least understood sustainable building and living models around. This is not least because they offer SO many benefits that it is hard to even know them all, let alone explain them all!
The systems of an earthship encounter the forces of nature, mainly the sun, rain, and wind, and funnels them into your home to provide everything you need to live comfortably with annual utility bills of around $200 or less.
When you are truly self-sufficient and out of debt you take away some of the main sources of stress: buying food, paying the bills, covering the mortgage or rent, and needing to work full-time to allow this to continue. We can also look at environmental issues and great need to build smarter and in a more connected way, especially in the face of climate change.

Earthship is temporary solution and concentrating on earthship homes is like favoriting only one thing "Reducing Carbon Footprint". Firstly, Technically speaking (only from my point of view, I could be completely wrong as well), these homes use waste bottles, and thrownaway tyres as their main ingredients for the construction. Secondly these waster tyres include harmful toxic chemicals that overtime get percolated back to earth (pollution again), fumes from these tyres (pollution again), bottles uses in creating decoration for earthship break overtime, and are not easy to replace (cox they are embedded in mud and cement mixture). Thirdly earthship construction enables use of plastic (direct use of pollution in construction of house). Thirdly these so called Earthship houses are heavily priced, with no guarantee for resale. Finally in the event of catastrophic event how you are gonna get our of broken bottles on the floor and burning tyres around you. To summarise this, I believe there are many other good alternative to reduce the carbon footprint. Thank for sharing this video with all of us.
thanks for this wayo.. Basically yes you have all the facts completely wrong.. many people say the things you say, but they are not at all correct!
I would LIKE to answer these points, and i wiLL very clearly for you.. but i cannot do so right now.. i will try to mention a few points though!
Earthships address just about ever global issue we have.. climate is just one small part of it. If you follow this series you will see the many benefits. Click though on the link i provided and you can read more info on each point i make.
Tyre toxicity to the ground and living space is absolutely a none issue.. When you have a thermal wrap the tyres do not even touch the soil and are entombed within the plastering on top of that! Offgsasing simply does not happen when tyres are used in this way, it has been tested and this issue has been put to rest Many years ago! There is simply no way for fumes to even develop when there is no light, no air, and they are sealed behind plastering... also second hand tyres have finished offgassing anyways since they have had a lifetime of use.
The cost to build an earthship can be the cheapest option available, IF you use the right design and plans.. The new encounter model is an example of that, i have built for 5,000USD a tiny earthship home.. MIke's designs are expensive, but they dont need to be done that way, i know from experience!..
Earthships are fireproof, and the walls will NEVER burn! (this has been documented and observed) Compare that to uncontrollable tyre dumps which are actually very toxic even when they dont burn. Earth rammed entombed tyres are not comparable to tyres just sitting around on the ground.
The use of glass bottles is optional, but many use them for internal walls, non load bearing.. I have used them externally also, until today ive never seen a bottle break.. if it did i would replace it.. i have also visited earthships from the 1970s and have never even heard of a bottle breaking.. since the bottle walls are none load bearing, it really isnt hard to chip out some cob or cement and replace it if that did happen.
The use of tyres means that an Earhtship structure is basically set to last 1000's of years without any worry of walls cracking or breaking. They also mean you dont need a concrete foundation.. And they are the thermal mass that will heat your home indefinitely, no need to heat it in most situations...

did not see anything about it for few years. it is really interesting concept. think someone made it in serbia, i should probably find it and visit to see it live.

me under my rock here in Thailand - lol - have never heard of 3speak. I can only say that this information is so radical in a world where people are entombed by their mortgages and their inability to ever sort a viable, comfortable home which doesn't suck their lifeblood and which doesn't destroy the earth. Getting it out again and again, in different formats to different audience groups? - YES!
