Do the right thing and doing things right...
That was the dilemma in Ned Stark case. To be honest, I couldn't agree with Ned for his decisions despite I approve his general manners. There were Littlefinger, Varys, others and their bloody politics so the best would be fair enough to recognise the evil and act for the good.
I believe in third route, relatively complex but hit the good in the end :)
