Die bei Touristen und Einheimischen sehr beliebte Küstenstraße ist zurecht ein Highlight Australiens
From Torquay to Allansford with a total length of 243km, the Great Ocean Road stretches past beaches with sparkling water and turquoise bays, rugged cliffs and steep coves, nesting places like Lorne or Apollo Bay and the Otway National Park.
Von Torquay bis Allansford mit einer gesamtlänge von 243km erstreckt sich die Great Ocean Road vorbei an Stränden mit glasklarem Wasser und türkisfarbenen Buchten, schroffen Felsen und Steilküsten, schnuckeligen Orten wie Lorne oder Apollo Bay und am Otway Nationalpark.
Along the Great Ocean Road you can always see koalas in trees, see some more rare birds like the Black Kakadu or feed colorful birds like Loris or Rosellas by hand.
So there is lots of wildlife to discover.
Entlang der Great Ocean Road kann man immer wieder Koalas in Bäumen entdecken, etwas seltenere Vögel wie den Black Kakadu sehen oder bunte Vögel wie Loris oder Rosellas von Hand füttern.
Es gibt also jede Menge Wildlife zu entdecken.
According to Wikipedia, the Great Ocean Road was declared one of the most beautiful roads in the world in 1962.
We loved it so much that we drove the Great Ocean Road twice, once from Torquay to Portland and the second time on the way back from Grampians National Park to Melbourne. From both directions it is beautiful and worthwhile. Also the weather was very good, Apollo Bay we even had 42 degrees, so we went swimming for the whole day in the 17 degree cold water.
But enough said, sometimes pictures can describe the beauty much better than words.
Laut Wikipedia wurde die Great Ocean Road im Jahre 1962 zu eine der schönsten Straßen auf der Welt erklärt.
Uns hat es so dermaßen gut gefallen, dass wir die Great Ocean Road zwei mal gefahren sind, einmal von Torquay nach Portland und das zweite mal auf dem Rückweg vom Grampians Nationalpark Richtung Melbourne. Von beiden Richtungen ist sie schön und lohnenswert. Auch das Wetter hat sehr gut mitgespielt, in Apollo Bay hatten wir sogar 42 Grad, somit war den ganzen Tag Baden im 17 Grad kaltem Wasser angesagt.
Aber genug gesagt, manchmal können Bilder die Schönheit viel besser beschreiben als Worte.

da kommen Erinnerungen hoch. Ich war vor ungefähr zehn Jahren für ein knappes Jahr in Australien,
Jetzt lebe ich in Japan, und werde darüber jetzt natürlich auch ein bisschen schreiben und ein paar Fotos posten. Ich bin zwar erst seit ein paar Tagen hier dabei, aber du kannst dir ja gerne mal anschauen was ich bisher gemacht habe.

thanks @damira. you´ve to hurry up if you want to see them. the name of the twelve apostles is a bit misleading cause actually there are just 8 of them left. the last one was collapsing in 2005 and one day they will be all gone for sure. 😔

wow traumhaft die strände! 42° die luft und 17° das wasser... für mich zu heiss und zu kalt, aber immer noch besser als 17 die luft und 42 das wasser.
hast du die 12 apostel abgezählt? dachte einer davon ist mittlerweile zusammengebrochen? wenn dem so ist war das sicher judas!
haha ja super vergleich. wobei ich auch auf winter und Thermalbad stehe. ja hab ich, bin aber nur bis 8 gekommen, es sind tatsächlich schon insgesamt 4 zusammengebrochen und die restlichen 8 werden früher oder später auch weg sein.

I guess you are. unfortunately I don't live there but Australians are happy about every visitor and its quite easy to get the tourist visa. you should go there 😉
