Hidden Gem Of Moravia- KROMERIZ.
Yesterday we took a road trip from Olomouc to a hidden gem of a medieval town of Kromeriz. It’s a lovely little town in the central region of Moravia called Hana.
Coming up to Kromeriz castle
I grew up in Hana region , of which Olomouc is the capital. Honestly I’m grateful I didn’t grow up in Prague. Thanks to growing up on suburbs of a much smaller town than the capital city of Czech Republic I was able to spend time in nature daily, away from the hassle of a city.
Highway access to Kromeriz from Olomouc
I learned how to do fire in rain, build dams in rivers and names and use of all the plants. I had real friends and we fought with other gangs of boys who challenged mine and we resolved our problems on our own, not with police. We had wild and sometimes quite dangerous childhood (injuries even death sometimes happened) but it made us into independent men early on in life. We worked on construction sites during the weekends since age of 15 so we had money for our Friday binges, which often lasted until Saturday morning and we went straight to work from there and another binge on Saturday night right after that. You could indeed call us marathonians 😂 These were good times ✊️
We didn’t take highway but small roads so it took us longer but we enjoyed the view of countryside and many villages we passed through
We started our visit in “Kvetna zahrada” (blossom garden), famous for its labyrinth and statue arcade.
Entrance hall with garden model
Tropical plants hall
Ceiling of the rotunda which was built in 1666
The pendulum in the middle was designed to prove the spinning of Earth. It makes ever turning lines in the sand. Pretty cool experiment given the time when it was designed and installed
!
The statues arcade are not just ordinary line up of statues. The whole arcade is a acoustic miracle of architecture. You can stand at the opposite far ends of the structure and talk at low voice to the wall and the person at the other far end (over 100m!) will clearly hear it. Dope AF ✊️😂
Venus. My favourite statue ❤️
After the Blossom Garden we took off to the center of the medieval town, explore the town square and castle with amazing gardens
Not an ugly looking high school. Find me one like that in North America and I’ll go back to school 😂
Entrance to the castle
Gladys decided to shoot some sh*t 😂😂✊️🔥

Mandatory post-goulash ice cream 💜
Overall we loved the little friendly town of Kromeriz. I just wish we took the highway back cause we got stuck in traffic jam through Prerov town and it was a draaaag.
I had to soothe my nerves by a nice cold beer in the evening while watching EPIC VICTORY OF CZECH ICE HOCKEY TEAM OVER RUSSIA (yessss!!!)
at the Ice Hockey World Cup in Denmark.
Today we’re playing with Belarus and that’s gonna be a piece of cake after defeating the absolute star of the tournament to his point (Russia).
Thanks for following our journey across Europe!
Much love to all,
Jan

It's an amazing adventure to explore more about Czech! I love this country more and more now :) Thanks for everything babe:)
Greetings :-) I am glad to see that you have such a beautiful time. Hugs.
Brathaaaa! Wish you were here with us eating goulash and klobasas and driking cold beers while cheering for our hockey team :D
Awesome and resteemed :-) Much love from Berlin.
Thanks a lot brother! Much Love! We miss you!
tumi thik bolecho. good
Hana itself is a pretty nice name and it justifies the looks.. I am planning to visit prague in about 2 months. I have put your city in my list :)
Nice! It's pronounced with long "a" at the end. And yes Olomouc should be on your list. Easy to access by direct train from Prague and from there you can go on short road trips such as Kromeriz (and tooooons more). I'd recommend Olomouc as your base since it also has a great night life.
I have a couple of schedules in prague so i was preferring that. But, I am going to check the distance of prague from olomouc, i hope its near then definitely i would plan to stay in this area instead. Minion-five to you for sharing the information :)
The city is so beautiful, natural and clean. Love the photography.
thank you. Yes Czech Republic is overall very clean country. So proud how it evolved in last 2 decades!
