Saturday morning at the Gold Coast Beaches
After a quite exhausting week we had the most beautiful Beachday today. We´ve spend the whole morning at the Beaches of the southern Gold Coast. The weather and the water was just perfect today, no wind and calm, crystal clear water.
It doesn´t get much better...the only thing missing were waves
Nach einer recht anstrengenden Woche hatten wir heute den schönsten Strandtag. Wir haben den ganzen Morgen an den Stränden der südlichen Gold Coast verbracht. Das Wetter und das Wasser waren heute perfekt, kein Wind und ruhiges, kristallklares Wasser.
Es wird nicht viel besser ... das einzige was fehlte, waren Wellen
Before we went on a dip into the perfect temperatured water we had a little walk from the Rainbow Bay Lookout down to the Rainbow Bay Beach
From the Lookout you got amazing views to both sides, Kirra Beach on the one side and Rainbow Bay on the other side. Even from the top you could see the ground of the ocean.
Bevor wir in das perfekt temperierte Wasser eintauchten, gingen wir vom Rainbow Bay Lookout zum Rainbow Bay Beach.
Vom Aussichtspunkt aus hat man einen fantastischen Ausblick auf beide Seiten, Kirra Beach auf der einen Seite und Rainbow Bay auf der anderen Seite. Selbst von oben konnte man den Meeresgrund sehen.

When walking down from the Lookout on to the Oceanview Way there were dozens of Water Dragons of every size. They were sunbathing and soaking up the morning sun. I love these creatures, they´re pretty photogenic. It seems like they like it to get photographed. I could have taken hundreds of photos of them

Ich liebe diese Kreaturen, sie sind ziemlich fotogen. Es scheint, als würden sie gerne fotografiert werden. Ich hätte hunderte Fotos von ihnen machen können
Since the sun rises around 4.30am in the morning you can imagine that it is already quite hot around 8am. Even after that short walk we really needed a cool down in the ocean. And honestly who could resist jumping into such a beautiful water. Just later we noticed that there where hundreds of big white jellyfish in the water.
Da die Sonne um 4.30 Uhr morgens auf geht, kann man sich vorstellen, dass es bereits um 8 Uhr morgens ziemlich heiß ist. Selbst nach diesem kurzen Spaziergang brauchten wir wirklich eine Abkühlung im Meer. Und ehrlich gesagt, wer könnte da widerstehen, in so ein schönes Wasser zu springen. Erst später bemerkten wir, dass hunderte von großen weißen Quallen im Wasser waren.
After a endless time in the water and another walk to Snapper Rocks (the starting point of a world famous surf break) we went a bit further up the Hill to the Point Danger.
At Point Danger there runs the boundary of Queensland and New South Wales. This is actually quite funny cause New South Wales is 1 hour ahead of queensland. I´m always wondering how people deal with that if they live in NSW but work in QLD or the other way around. Must be quite confusing.
Nach einer endlosen Zeit im Wasser und einem weiteren Spaziergang zu den Snapper Rocks (Ausgangspunkt eines weltberühmten Surfbreaks) gingen wir den Hügel etwas weiter hoch zum Point Danger.
Am Point Danger verläuft die Grenze von Queensland und New South Wales. Das ist eigentlich ziemlich lustig, denn New South Wales ist 1 Stunde vor Queensland. Ich frage mich immer wie die Leute damit umgehen, wenn sie in NSW leben, aber in der QLD arbeiten oder andersherum. Das muss ziemlich verwirrend sein.

No mater which Beach you´re visiting on such a beautiful morning you won´t be disappointed because they are all breathtaking.
But our absolut highlight of the day was the view in both directions from up here. You´ve got Duranbah Beach on the right hand side in New South Wales and Snapper Rocks and the The Green Froggy on the other side in Queensland. This is just amazing, not to mention that these are absolut top surf spots.
1-2 times a year, when the conditions are perfect, the world's elite of surfing is in the water and it's almost impossible for people like me to get a wave here.
But still I would love to stand up here and watch them...
Egal welchen Strand du an einem so schönen Morgen besuchst, du wirst nicht enttäuscht sein, denn alle sind atemberaubend.
Aber unser absoluter Höhepunkt des Tages war der Blick in beide Richtungen von hier oben. Du hast Duranbah Beach auf der rechten Seite in New South Wales und Snapper Rocks und The Green Froggy auf der anderen Seite in Queensland. Das ist einfach unglaublich, ganz zu schweigen davon, dass dies absolute Top-Surfspots sind.
1-2 mal im Jahr, wenn die Bedingungen perfekt sind, befindet sich hier die Weltelite des Surfsports im Wasser und es wird nahezu unmöglich für Leute wie mich hier überhaupt eine Welle abzubekommen.
Aber ich würde trotzdem gerne hier oben stehen und sie beobachten...

Thank you! No, not much seaweed but Jellyfish sometimes. They also get the Bluebottle Jellyfish here which can sting.
Ein toller Post! Der Strand ist ein Traum und die Fotos würden sich in jedem Hochglanzmagazin gut machen.
Während sich bei uns der Winter ankündigt, genießt ihr Sonne, Strand und Meer und hoffentlich bald auch ein paar Wellen. Beneidenswert!

Meine Wellen hatte ich heute früh endlich auch. Allerdings musste ich dafür auch um 5:30 in der früh raus. Der frühe Vogel fängt den Wurm! 😉
Ich glaube, in diesem Paradies würde ich täglich freiwillig so früh aufstehen. !Zumindest so lange, bis ich mich an den wunderbaren Ausblick gewöhnt hätte.
haha so geht es uns auch gerade. Hier steh ich gerne um 5 auf morgens. Hat man auch vielmehr vom Tag. Selbst im Sommer ist es ja hier schon um 19 Uhr dunkel.

it is an amazing Beach. Yes, got my Board already and have surfed it as well. But now it´s flat everywhere.
