Tree Tuesday - Banyan Trees

in #treetuesday6 years ago (edited)

Today's post is about some amazing trees I saw in Maui, Hawaii. They are called Banyan trees.

I know that there is a huge Banyan tree in Lahaina, but I stayed in Wailea, so I couldn't see that famous tree, which is one of the largest of its kind in the world. Anyway, I was happy with the Banyan trees I saw around my place, they looked so strange, with many branches and some of them, with large trunks.

Hope you like these trees as much as I do. I wish I took more pictures, they are so beautiful! Mother Nature is truly amazing!

They look very sturdy for a tree with so many huge trunk branches..

They are weird to me. Those branches are thick. I’ve heard that they have some sort of sup inside, so that means they are not very heavy, right? That’s why the trunk can hold so many thick branches - I guess 😊

Love the Banyan trees. I have been lucky enough to see the tree in Lahaina, it is fantastic. Hope your day is great.

I was supposed to go, as I stayed 3 weeks in Maui. But we cancelled, imagine how pissed I was 🙃

It is a good excuse to go back to Maui.

Ohhhh it is too far. I don’t want to go back there. I prefer Caribbean.

Looks lovely with "aging wrinkles" in circles up the tree, looks like a nice sturdy tree to have in the garden for children to climb @starjewel

I didn’t see children climbing, as a matter of fact, I didn’t see many children in Maui.

Interesting shape indeed. Wonder how old it is.

Have no idea, but they look old to me. 😂

Keep raccoons out of that thing, trust me.

I don’t know if there are raccoons in Hawaii. 🙃

Nice shots, @starjewel.
The tree is really amazingly branched, but you made me think with it what else I have missed while I was there.

I stayed in Kaanapali Alii, but went to Lahaina almost every second day (for one reason or another), but I definitely missed to see that huge Banyan tree there. What a pity! 😥

Amazing tree photography...so detailed, Nature you are beautiful always with the color, really really gorgeous photograph my friend.

My lighting was not set up properly, but I am still happy that I could at least capture the trees.

Hi wow amazing trees! Maybe one day I will be lucky enough to see one :)

Yes, think positive, there are so many wonderful trees around us, we just have to pay more attention.

I love trees and these ones are big and beautiful! I didn't know you live in Maui! Sound like a great exotic location!

Ah, nature is truly amazing! I have never seen such a tree and I am fascinated by its shape!
