Ulog #1: My mother's day gift to my beloved mother.

in #ulog6 years ago

Hello steemians!!!

This is my first post in ulog. At first, I was curious about what ulog means. Then I understand what should it be the content by just reading ulog post of a steemian. It is like the normal post or blog tells about you in your daily life or experience. You can tell here your perspective in life , your thoughts and dedications. And I want to thank @surpassinggoogle for making this new tag where we can post our blogs.

Long time no steemit. I wasn't able to update myself on steemit because of my busy schedule for this summer. I know it is late for me to post this blog which happened on mother's day. But before on mother's day, I was thinking a gift for my mother and then I just fixed my mind what would be. And that was the portrait of her I gave to my mother. During that time, I didn't have any money in my pocket or savings to buy something that will make my mother happy. So, I decided to make a portrait of her for mother's day.

My mother's day gift to my beloved mother.

A little information about my mother.

FB_IMG_1527962213921.jpg

This woman that I love the most is Mrs. Arlene Lascamana Abad. She has 3 sons (including me) and daughters. My mother is not quite old. She provides our daily needs like transporting fees and allowances. She is a kind of strict when it comes to house rules and chores. I am close to my mother than to my father. I can talk all my problems and my needs to my mother which she listens and provides guidance about my studies. She always reminds me to focus on your studies and give thanks to God what blessings that he showered unto you. I am so blessed that I have a mother who is supportive and persistent to our family even though we have so many problems we are facing right now especially in financial needs.

My mother and I had a bonding together but my favorite was when I graduated in highschool. She was there for me to listen my speech which was a short time preparation for me to prepare and I had a difficulty in correct grammar and speaking. My mother was the only one who attended my graduation day in highschool. I thought my whole family was there but I understand of some circumstances in our family. My mother embraced me for what I accomplished in highschool. My hard work and sleepless nights paid off when I got my great achievement during highschool days. Thanks to my supportive mother.

So here was the process of the portrait that I made for my mother:

First, I started with grids.

Then, shadings.

I made also this portrait as a gratitude for my mother for being a good and optimistic kind of person in life. This portrait cost me Php 30.00 for the lamination in order to preserve it. At the end of the process of the portrait, I was satisfied and happy even though my summer schedule is busy. Thanks I could insert some time to make portraits especially this latest portrait that I made, my mother 🤗.

Wow you are a talented artist, that portrait is spot on and almost looks like a photograph. Mentioning giving thanks for your blessings reminded me to give a verbal thanks to the universe for all the wonderful blessings I have been receiving lately when I get on the mic at my record release party. I thank you for that.

My mother's birthday is coming up and I have been considering making her a wire wrapped pendant, even though I have made her one before, but this time in silver. Hopefully I will have enough time in my schedule as I am very busy right now.

I did get a baller gift for my dad for this upcoming fathers day, check this bad boy out:

That is a 1 oz. Father's Day silver bar from 1973 I picked up locally here in Portland. The owl is also my spirit guide.

Wow-hoo! You sound like a great son! Your dad will defiantly appreciate that. Happy early birthday to your mother from the steem world. lol

Thanks buddy.

Now that is cool! I would love that as a gift from my boys when they can afford it of course!

I hope my dad likes it, he sold our family's silver without me even knowing we had any, I found out after the fact and was pretty upset, so I hope he doesn't take this gift the wrong way because I bought this well before I found out about that.

@badzkie, I just want to say what a beautiful and honorable tribute you paid to your mother. Monetary gifts will never equal the value that a gift from the heart brings. I know this as a mother. I have twins that are 29 years old. A boy and a girl. Each are very different in the way they like to express their love to me. My daughter is more career oriented and lives a further distance away so she tends to send me less personalized gifts. I am grateful, because I know she cares. My son is more of a simple guy and also thinks about more personalized gifts such as yours.

When they were younger they both made me planters, and ceramic animals, wrote me amazing letters, and I have kept everyone of them. I have created scrap books for each of them that contain report cards, book reports, poetry, stories they have written, and drawings. One of my favorites from my son was when his class had to create Recipe Books and he called his Mama's Kitchen, because that was his favorite place to eat.

I promise you that your mother will hold this dear to her heart always, and thank you so much for sharing your love for her and your talents with all of us. 💚

Aww, thats so sweet, "Mama's kitchen"!

@smylie thank you. What is funny is that I am a very good cook. All of the children were submitting recipes to create their books. After bragging about me, his recipe is open can of green beans, put them in a pot. LOL! He was really young, but I was like oh wow! Mama's Kitchen is not serving up canned green beans.

BAHAHA!!! Thats too funny and incredibly cute!

Oh wow this is a great comment!

Beautiful portrait of your mother, @badzkie123. You are your mother's pride and joy (along with your other siblings), and I can just imagine the feelings she had whilst listening to you and watching you deliver your speech on your graduation day. That must be either valedictory or salutatory address. I'm sure you will continue to make your mama proud.

You are also very blessed with gifted and talented hands. You were able to depict your mother's simplicity and beauty with this portrait. Her eyes reflect the joy that any ideal mother has despite the hardship of raising her children up, ensuring that all of them are physically and emotionally nurtured and nourished.

I'm sure your mother appreciated your gift. Your dedication, time and effort combined with your innate artistic talent cannot be measured by monetary terms. It is priceless and very special!

This part of your response made me emotional

You were able to depict your mother's simplicity and beauty with this portrait. Her eyes reflect the joy that any ideal mother has despite the hardship of raising her children up, ensuring that all of them are physically and emotionally nurtured and nourished.

Raising children in hardship is not that easy. I can only imagine the nights of tears and a pretense of a joyful heart in the morning because crying before the children will make the children feel hopeless.

All hail the wonderful mothers in the world who do everything to make their children have a better life.

Where there are mothers who neglect and abandon their children, there are those who are so sacrificing that they deny their own pleasures to be able to provide for the needs of their children. So, yes, I agree with you, @inspiredgideon1:

All hail the wonderful mothers in the world who do everything to make their children have a better life.

Where there are mothers who neglect and abandon their children

Very true, not that you said it but have seen it. Some mothers go as far as to dump their babies some where because they can't afford to take care of the baby as a single mother and I wonder if they really went through the delivery pains of other mothers.

Yeah, and while others are longing and yearning to have a child of their own, there are those who just dump and abandon those babies, some even wilfully cause harm to their own children.

That's why when I read stories like this, like @badzkie123's mother's love for them and how he loves and honours his mother through his priceless gift, I find myself deeply affected and I wish that all children were blessed to have such wonderful mothers by their side all their lives. Children need their mother's tender love and care all throughout their lives.

A mother's love is powerful, I can testify to that because I have enjoyed this great love from my mum and might say that my success is tied to my mum. And few days back there was a desire to see her face again. I have being away from home since a year and two months and longed to see my mother's face again. So I told my kid brother to take a snap shot and send to me on whatsapp but am yet to receive that picture from him.

But then there are those who never enjoyed this love and these are those in the orphanages. On the first of this month, I visited an orphanage and almost wept because these children got the bad side of life.

I love both of you! Look at you two killin it here!

What an awesome portrait of your mother!

A mothers love is really something special! Theyve seen us at our worst and at our best and love us unconditionally through all of it. Im sure she was extremely happy to receive this gift from. It shows how much you love her! Great job @badkie123!

This is so beautiful and if your mother can be very sincere with you or if you can see through her heart, you would see the Joy right in there in her heart.

It's not about the amount spent but the heart you used that mattered more. The value of a thing is not determined by it's price but it's demanded. Your hearted demanded love for your mother and this was produced.

At least you have something to offer from your heart to mother even though it cost you almost nothing. I wish I could do this same thing for my mummy but am not good at drawing and am a bit far away from home in school.

When I graduate by this year, I hope to take my mother out to have some good feels around the town. I only hope that sbd and steem goes high to enable me achieve that.

Thanks for sharing #dynamicsteemians

Quite often hand crafted items are appreciated more by the recipient than ones that are purchased, at least in my experience. Especially if you pour love and passion into it like he did here. Respect is shown better through individual effort as opposed to throwing a few dollars at something someone else made. It also shows commitment.

Yea, very true. I hope to do mine too.

Whatever you make I am sure will be loved!

That's true. Thanks for the response

no problem.

This my friend, this is true.

Thanks buddy.

My mom loves wine so I usually open up my best bottles for her, which is a win win for all of us! lol BUt your right its not how much you spend, its how much you care!! Im giving you a follow to hopefully up vote your post so you can get more SBD, good luck my friend!

Thank you friend. Am grateful.

Steem power is a powerful thing👍

Yea it is but I don't have it yet.

Hey man this was an amazing comment! I also wish I could draw like this to show love!

How wonderful the love for your mother, you show it in each letter and in that beautiful gift that you did, can I give you some advice? take care of her, value her, love her every day of your life, mothers are the most wonderful beings that we can have, they are unconditional, they have so much love to give that it seems like they never run out. many blessings for your family, and really nice that the economic circumstances do not overshadow their family love. Love is above all evil.

Thank you, I will also take your advice. Sometimes its very easy to get caught up with life that you forget the small things!

"People come and go". That is a constant thing in life. We will meet new faces along the way, new learning to gain and experiences to encounter, but none of which has the consistency to STAY. Family on the other hand has the opposite. Will scold you, hurt you and a lot more things, but family never leaves you no matter what. @badzkie123 , you are so blessed to have such a wonderful family and even more so to have a loving mother. As you friend, I am a living witness to that.

This drawing of yours really displays enthusiasm and overloads with love for your mother. Every detail is perfect. From the shadings to the over-all layout, I can sense every bits of emotion from the drawing. Not to mention your mother is really lovely. I , as your fellow artist couldn't be more proud of what you have portrayed in your craft and I am pretty much sure that your family is too. All I can say is that, you keep up with your work, and always stay humble and keep your feet on the ground.

#MamasLove

Your mother is very lovely.
She must be very proud of you.
Well done!

@badzkiel123,you did not just write but you did because you cant just hide the inner love. Your mum will really be very proud of you. Your art work is equally good. Nice meeting a good composer like you. #dynamicsteemians thank you cos you did a great thing to share this post cos is a moral boaster.
