Ulog 001 : Promoting "Steemit" the old-fashioned way in Manila, Philippines

in #ulog6 years ago

I don't know about you, but for me, this platform is a God-sent, touching everyone's lives in ways more than anyone could've imagined from those times that we've registered and became Steemians. Although it took some time to get to where we are now, excluding of course our investors and some of our members who for one way or another have had it easier than most, majority are now enjoying the results of their hardwork.

Well, let's just say generally, for most of us who i hope think like this. "Shout it out and share the blessing."

One reason that Steemit Philippines was created was to reach out to those in need here in the Philippines, that there is a platform where anyone who blogs can be rewarded, earn extra income, though it may not be immediate, that it may need an extra mile but with perseverance and diligence, the result can be very promising.

Any Steemian can be an ambassador if he/she wants to. It is one's choice.

No title, no recognition, no returns, no expectations.

@dreamiely and @rafasays during an Art Fest in Megamall, Manila last May.

Anyone who have faith in the platform can do this, and I find that it comes NATURALLY. I get asked a few times if it is a kind of a NETWORKING, well, I can't blame people for asking as a platform like Steemit is unheard of still. But we will get there.

The neighbourhood

Excluding my family who have ghost accounts, I gave up. But around my neighbourhood, there are a FEW. Examples would be the choir in our church as they sing beautifully or the church itself for their fundraising efforts. Contacts have been made so will need to follow that up.

In the Philippines, street vendors abound selling fruits and vegetables with their carts. They don't go around but rather positioned their carts beside residential buildings, a few blocks from the main market. In a way, this helps families significantly when in need of just few pieces of carrots, potatoes, and other stuff, enough to cook one meal. There's no need to go further when needing just one piece of onions. People living in condominiums only need to go outside and voila!

Actually, I took this shot to demonstrate what to blog with a photo accompaniment, just a sample to show the vendor as she was asking what she can blog about. As it was raining, the whole cart was covered initially and I couldn't take a picture of the vendor. Those vegetables came from Pangasinan, few hours North of Manila, where most of the commercialised vegetables that are being sold in Manila came from.

These small businesses still pay tax and with regards to their earnings per day, $5-10 is already a lot. I hope there's more but if I were them, I will blog for extra money as selling those day after day, rain or shine, I have the time in the world to blog. Although not easy, it can be learnt.

As a curator for @bayanihan, I wouldn't mind reading their stories. Real life stories. Perhaps they can get lucky.

I think these were for a stew (Nilagang butu-buto po).

Great post @immarojas.

Sounds like you're doing a good job of getting the word out! 😊

I try Gillian...including a unicef agent last night. i don't trust them.

You don't trust unincef @immarojas?

That's a shame. 😢

Am so sorry Gillian.

Are they not a very good organisation then @immarojas? They are always talked about as though they are.

I meant it's a shame if they are not doing their work well. 😢

You could try your own research Gillian, a friend of a friend in London doesn't even trust her own Red Cross, yet she worked there for years. There was a documentary i saw about charity groups in UK, it stopped me donating, Unicef leading.

Hello @immarojas,
I found your post on twitter and got interested, so we can see how important it is to share our Steemit posts in other networks aswell.
You made a very nice #ulog and #promo-steem post together!
Yes, Steemit is not so easy for many people, but if someone want to learn, he can learn.
Best regards from Thailand

Oh hi Tom! Good on you mate, i can handle twitter and fb, not yet with IG. Best of luck here in Steemit. Cheers!

Very cool work you are doing! @ecoswell is a high-impact nonprofit, focused on reforestation and other sustainability work in Lobitos, Peru. We are very new to steemit, and still learning how to successfully navigate the site; it requires hard work indeed. In much the same way as you, our projects aim to re-empower community members of this semi-rural coastal town. So far, we have mobilized schools and mothers to manage nurseries to provide a platform for empowerment and eco-feminism. It is nice to see parallels in our goals and work in places so far away! Good luck with your work, it is very inspiring.

Thank you, best of luck with yours and thank you too for what you do.

Very inspiring of you Ma'am 👏

Thank u. I believe we can help our kababayans through Steemit. We don't need to do big things or always expect the government's help.

Agree Maam , I'm am happy that someone like you is not greedy enough , someone who share her knowledge without any expectation in return ! Kudos

Thank you, but i get my own payouts lols. Madame na nagawa and not posting about it. Baka ikaw nga din.

I've had some friends/family who signed up, write a few and gave up... i guess it is also important to find a way to motivate them to stay.

As for me, I loved it from day 1. I keep on saying the difference to made to my(our) life. We need to keep inspiring. 😍

Most of them did not even write an intro, or did just an intro and gave up. To earn is not easy, don't expect it here also.
There are more people who are more deserving of my time than friends and family, as for motivation and inspiration, they can just look at what I do, see how I get income from Steemit. Sometimes, we also need to move on and look around for those who are really in need.

how that's great hope It can launch to in every province in our country , what an great blog ^^

Thank you...it can thru us. If we want to help other Pinoys.

<3 Empowering people with Steem blockchain, go go go girl ! <3
It's very difficult for the people staying on Steem... I am right now checking all my following list and more than half is not active on steem for months ! :(
Being on steem is being an entreprenor ! No easy money...

Perseverance mon amie...there are things such as ghost lolsss
How's that app of yours???

What about the app @immarojas ?
