ULOG: I Ordered Food Through Food Panda & This Is What Happened...
I was feeling good. I came back to my place after a nice swim. I felt energized and was ready to make lunch and I saw the fridge, it's not empty but I don't have anything that I can cook. I forgot to pull out some meat this morning!
The problem is I am hungry and I don't feel like going out because it's going to take me at least an hour to get ready just to grab my lunch outside.
So I decided to place an order through food panda. I didn't exactly know what I want, so I decided to order an Indian food and pizza. I know what you're thinking... It's an awful combination! Lol.
I was having a hard time to pick from what restaurant I should be ordering so I thought to get Indian food and if I don't like their food, I have at least pizza as a backup, lol.
I ordered the chana masala and one plain naan from Bollywood Tandoor. I never tried their food and that's why ordered pizza from Sbarro.
My first order had arrived and this is the what is got:
First look at the naan, it's very disappointing. 😞 I know I wouldn't be happy with this but of course, I have to give a try.
The naan was too plain! From the word plain naan, they literally prepared it plainly, meaning it was bland! Lol, It was just a flatbread they roll out but flavorless.
The chana masala was edible, not terrible but it definitely didn't satisfy me. You can tell if the restaurant is being cheap with the ingredients.
When I compared the price of the dish from the favorite Indian Restaurant I always go to- Bhat Spice, they charge 180pesos for the same dish. On the other hand, Bollywood Tandoor is charging 275.
That's when I got upset! Not only that this place can't make the chana masala as better than Bharat Spice but they ripped me off and other customers by charging more!
Will I order from this restaurant again? Definitely not!
Two minutes after I decided not to finish my food, the pizza from Sbarro has finally arrived.
At first look, YAY! But then I flipped over, NAY!
It isn't my lucky day, is it? Haha Look at this pizza crust, it's as white the raw dough! And yes it was a little bit raw in the middle.
So I had to cook it in the pan because I am lazy to heat up the oven.
Now time to eat!
The pizza wasn't the same pizza when I ordered it the first time at the location. The dough didn't taste like a pizza dough. Am not sure which one is awful, the naan or the pizza dough.
I hate wasting food but I don't like eating it when am not enjoying it and my stomach is not feeling good right now. So, am just going to make some salad and go grocery shopping later.
Lesson learned: never let your fridge ran out of food! =p

I feel for you - what a rip-off! I never order from a place I don't know and/or had physically checked out. I have enough take-out places on my list that I trust, so I never have to take a chance. If I want to try something new, I go to the restaurant, and if it is not good, I send it back. Like this pizza: it is a disgrace!
In my country when you go to a restaurant, it's not common to return the food that you order if you don't like. The people are afraid to say something bad but they don't realize it's important to complain if you think the food or the service is bad.
If you order the good online though, I think it's a hassle return the food so just gotta have to eat it or throw it away 😣

That is sad. I am not talking about food that I don't like (my fault if I order something I don't know what it is) but I mean, if the cook screws up, you can't send it back? For example, if I go to a steak restaurant and the steak is not done the way I ordered it, or is poor quality meat, like old and full of gristle, I send it back. I live in Austria now, but lived in Canada, and dined in the US as well, and it is the same everywhere.
Even if I order take-out, like from the Domino Pizza Chain, if the pizza is as badly cooked as yours, I phone, and they give me either a refund or else a coupon code for my next order free.
Now if there is a minor thing wrong and I eat it anyway, but when they come and ask 'how was the food' then I tell them. The usually apologize and offer free desert or a drink on the house.
Only if you go to a decent restaurants they have better service.
I went to some casual dinning restaurants and when they screwed up with the food they'll just tell you they're sorry but you still have to pay for it lol. Other times they'll replace your food but will you trust them to make your food again?
Sometimes I do, sometimes it just leave and go back. Am always paraniod that they'll do something crazy coz they'll get offended if you return the food.

avoid those kind of places.
I used to work in a couple of fine restaurants way back when in Sweden. Our chefs used to get offended if you ordered something stupid, like a filet mignon well done. They even refused to do it that way (rightfully so - it loses flavor, texture and gets tough - a filet mignon has to be served rare), so we had to convince the customer to get something different, like a pork roast. That in turn has to be well done.

oh no! that would really make me upset too, specially if i am hungry as well , when i am hungry here , i think i get angry easily , and becoming a monster mommy to mu kids, LOL, if i am you miss @purepinay i'll call sbarro and get a replacement pizza 2 boxes for giving you half raw crust ,LOL.

Kay magkahawig (quite similar) yung middle eastern food sa Indian food but the Indian food is more aromatic and more flavor in my opinion. Yan ba lagi mo kinakain jan o nagluluto din kayo ng Filipino food?
Magluto ako ng pagkain pinoy .pag busy,kain.kshit ano at tama ka may pagkahawig,,at hindi.lang mgkahawig yon na talaga dahil ngluluto ng.mga resto dito kadalasan Indiano at Afghan...

My first time ordering online was a great experience (link) but the second time, the Pad Thai noodles I ordered weren't up to scratch. I guess we just have to be more discriminating with the restos we choose to order from. 🍔
