Introduction

November hasn’t been the traditional crypto month. Traditionally in the past years November is the month for crypto bull run. Not this time. This is making the situation hard for everyone. Still @actifit has continued growing its community and doing what they do as usual. Rolling out updates for the project.
I also continued using the app, counting my steps and trying to stay active, beside the cold weather.

Following My User Rank

November was a full month with the actifit new reward system that was introduce back in October. Just as reminder it includes the user rank, user activity and the quality of the post.
The user rank was the most interesting part. Users are ranked on a scale from 0 to 100. It depends on the delegation, number of accumulated AFIT tokens and posting.

I started the month with around 39 rank.
This is not close to 100 and doesn’t look like a high rank. But what I noticed that this is actually a high user rank. Only a couple of users that are posting have user rank more than 40. So Actifit has made it hard to get to 100 user rank.

Short after my user rank dropped to 35, then it got back to 39, and later droped to 33.
What I can say that this variations in the user rank are from the number of posts I made. When I have days with no posts, then it goes down.

Fitbit Integration

The most important updated that in the past month was the Fitbit integration.
Fitbit has around 25 million of users at the moment! They have grown very fast in the past five years, starting from just a 0,5 million in 2012. If only a small part of those users comes to @actifit, it will be a great success.

Actifit being integrated with wearables is a great thing. This means it will get to the right users. People with dedicated wearable for tracking fitness activity are passionate about staying active. Having an app like Actifit will be incentive for them to improve even more. So, this is a great strategy from actifit, bringing the app to wearables. I hope they continue in this direction and put it on even more devices.

There was some preparation and testing done, before they officially roll out the update. They first announced this in the post asking for users who have Fitbit to hep them with testing. The official launch of the Fitbit integration was done on 24.11.2018, after several weeks of testing. Congrats for the actifit team for making this happened.

50K Delegation Increase

Actifit has been project of the Steemit community. A lot of users supporting the project with their delegation. There hasn’t been any big delegation from a whale account. They have gathered there SP slowly but surely. This has its advantages and disadvantages.
Relaying on a singles source of delegation can be dangerous if that delegation is removed. Having support from a lot of users makes it sustainable in a long term. On the other hand, a big delegation can put thing on a faster track and allow them to grow faster and bring more users.

This month for the first time they received bigger delegation from @freedom. It was a 50k SP delegation. This is still not as much as some other dApps here. It is not in a millions SP. Still it is a great support and it proves the trust in the project.

Charity Support

Actifit has a noble feature, and the users can donate their AFIT earnings to charities if they so choose. This is available in the settings options. In the past month they have added one more charity (SteemChurch) to the list and now it looks like this:

  • A Dollar A Day
  • MannaCurrency
  • School For SDG4
  • SteemChurch
  • SteemMinna
  • You Are Hope

Increased Post Upvote Wait Time

They have increased the waiting time to minimum of 6 hours after posting. This came as a suggestion from the users, to give time to the posts to garner a better reward. Especially due to time zone differences. Before the bot was voting minimum one hour after posting.
Nice small improvement in collaboration with the community 😊.

Actifit Witness

This is one more thing that Actifit is doing for the steem blockchain and the community. And it is an important one. They have launched their witness back in October and have fast moved up in rankings. At the moment they are ranked on the 48th place. This is very logical step and I believe that in the future all the top witnesses will be dApps. They also have the knowledge, the resources and the interest in running a witness server but also full nodes.
I have gave them my support.

Actifit has done more improvements in the previous month. They had continually adding small functionality to the app and to the web page as well.

My activities in November

With the help of the app I’m tracking my activities for each day. I collect the data and follow how I’m doing. Also, I compered it with previous months. This keeps me motivated.

November is getting colder and I have reduced my outdооr activities. I was expecting to have a drop in my activities, but I must admit not at this level. Funny, the situation is almost exactly like the crypto prices. But these two things shouldn’t be conected. It is just a coincidence that the winter is coming at the same time.

After months of me increasing my activities and growing each month, this was a month with a drop.

Here are my stats for November 2018.

Actifit rewards its users for minimum of 5000 steps, and the maximum is more than a 10000. The dark lines on the chart represent this numbers.

Not my best month.
From 30 days I have 21 days with a minimum of 5k steps. Like every month there are at least two days, when I forgot to post.

My goal was to have at least 25 days with minimum activity of 5k. I have missed this goal and it is the first time for me to do this, since I started tracking my activities with the app. No doubt this will motivate me to improve in December.

Here some of the photos from my actifit report cards.

Comparing my results with the previous month

Benchmarking is always a good method 😊. Here it is.

Screenshot_3.png

screenshot taken from my excel file

When comparing my results with the previous month, I can see that I have dropped in activities. The total number of moves was November is 231k, and in October 352k. October was my best month so making a 350k steps per months is the norm.

Actifit Tokens

Actifit tokens can be earned from activities and delegation. Also, they reward one token for voting users report card.

I earn tokens from activities and form delegation. I have made a small delegation of 125 SP and increased it to 150 SP this month. The incentive from the new rewarding system is obviously working on me 😊.

The chart below is for tokens earned from activities

I have started the month with 125 and finished it with 150 SP delegation. At the beginning of the month I was receiving around 80 tokens daily. Then there was a drop that was caused by the 50K delegation from @freedom. Later I increased the delegation a bit and finished the month with around 70 tokens per day. As times progress it is getting harder and harder to earn the AFIT tokens.

The chart below is for tokens earned from delegation

Screenshot_5.png

Actifit rewards the delegators with 1:1 ratio daily, until the delegations reach 100k SP. After that they allocate the tokes proportionally. Actifit now have around 230k delegated SP, and the ratio SP:AFIT is around 1:0,43. As more and more delegations are made, the harder it will get to earn AFIT tokens. And this trend will likely continue. Also, this month we have seen a drop in the tokens being rewarded for activities.
With this Actifit is making the token more valuable over time.

All the best

Hello @dalz, thank you for this submission. Actifit is a lovely project, and I'm also a huge fan of the project.
I see you put a lot of effort on this post, from the wording and those gorgeous charts that show your monthly activities. Great job!
I'd consider doing the same from January henceforth :))

On the content side, this post was hard to read. There are some sentences that I did not understand. The issues are grammar, typos, wrong punctuation, and omissions. I'd advise you check your publications thoroughly before you publish. Grammarly could have helped in sporting a few of those issues. Consider checking your future texts in Grammarly at least it'll help a bit.

Thanks for the review @tykee. I really appreciate it.
I must say I'm a bit surprised and disappointed by the low evaluation.

In terms of formatting and grammar I have checked it, with the Hemingway app, and read it carefully my self. Probably there is something that I have missed, but the lowest score on this feels a bit harsh to me.
Also in terms of adding value to the open source community. No value at all, is harsh as well.

Thank you for your review, @tykee! Keep up the good work!
