Choose your job carefully because you will do same job for your whole life!

Today I will talk about really serious problem in this world. It's about choosing career...
Unfortunately there is no equality of opportunity between different professions. And we're lazier than older generations. We want to earn more money without making an effort. But unfortunately it's not possible all the time.
I'm studying in medicine faculty now and I'm seeing lots of people chose wrong profession. But let me tell you about education system in medical schools in my country:
Here, people study 6 years at medicine faculty. And they have to take an exam which is second most difficult exam in the world according to what I heard. After this difficult exam, doctors choose specialty. But some specialties are easy in medicine and they also earn good. Radiology, PM&R and Dermatology are some examples. So those specialties need higher scores in exam.
When I was in Radiology internship, some students were asking to assistant doctors in there "why they chose Radiology." And I'm so surprised when they answered. Because most of them didn't want to choose radiology. They chose radiology because "they didn't want to waste their high score in exam." Interesting, isn't it? They have maybe 67-68 score in exam (highest score is 82 if I remember correctly). And they don't even want Radiology but they chose it. What about another student which had 66 score but dreaming to be radiology doctor? I think life is not fair, and some people are really making this life worse because of their selfish manners.
And as they're so selfish, they're destroying their lives too! Because they will have to stay in dark room looking at computer screen and trying to solve what problem patient has. They will get bored of it so quickly and they will want to change their specialty. Maybe they will take that exam again which I saw lots of examples in my life. Or maybe it will be worse and they will keep doing same job until they want to get retired. They will swear every day when they come to job, because they will know they don't like it.
Please don't be like them! Choose your job carefully and don't think about money. You don't have to earn good salary from your job, but at least you will enjoy while going to work. And you won't regret choosing it. You can earn money from somewhere else, there will be lots of opportunities in your life. If you choose the job that you will like, you will be much healthier and much happier. And I'm sure you will live longer too (if you choose good wife/husband lol).
Today I wanted to talk about this topic, because it's really common when I go to hospital. I saw lots of people who had wrong decisions.
And one last thing: Don't listen anybody while choosing your career, only listen yourself because you will do that job, not them!

Although I have studied for a long time and also chose the right path of their own. But your article makes me happy, I hope that what you say will be heard by young people today. Unfortunately, it is difficult for young Vietnamese. Most can not or do not dare to decide their life. What they decide in the present if only by money, maybe later they will regret it. Unfortunately, with a post, I do not dare to think that they will be thinking about their decision.
So, I hope to read more articles on similar topics from you.
I hope there will be more awareness about choosing career in future. I know economy in Vietnam is different, so young people want to earn money more. But in future everything will change and there won't be much difference between different professions.
This issue, I believe, is due to the education and lifestyle of the Vietnamese people. Education is not career oriented, does not make students become take initiative. Besides, Vietnamese people become more pragmatic, rich is the greatest concern of early modern and modern.
It's sad but that's what's going on.
Actually I don't know about education in there. But I think there should be career days in high schools. People who have different professions should come and talk about what they're doing at job. For example they should learn what architect does, what doctor does, what engineer does, etc. Then students can decide much better about their future.
Sometimes I wish they would do it in my high school before. But nobody made an event like that unfortunately.
Fully support this idea, it is a necessary condition for the young generation of Vietnam!
but almost people don't think like you. As you said: "we're lazier than older generations". so they want they have a job with stability salary, it's normal thinking of many young people!
In the past i also think like this, and higher scores in exam make you have better transcript, this make your cover letter better too.Easy to find a job and feel stability with your life!
Even though wrong with their major a little bit but they feel stability, i think that is reason!

Yeah, sometimes it's true. But I think there's national exam to choose university, right? So people choose their career as well.
As you say, choosing a job is an important job, so I think we need to look carefully, listen to the opinions of those who are ahead, who are more experienced than themselves. I think we should not decide for ourselves, I have a brother, he finished high school and decided to go to Korea for study, he decided to go while everyone gave him advice, but it still decided to study abroad. Without learning, not listening to advice from adults, until now more than a year, it has not yet been studied abroad. And I think that's not good, although I have my own opinion, I love that job, but do not hurry to decide early, stop and listen to everyone's comments, I am sure you will make the choice wisely.
Actually you're right too. But I still think everybody should decide for themselves. It doesn't mean they shouldn't listen other people, but people shouldn't choose what they say, they should reconsider it by themselves.
