๐Ÿ“ข VOTU PODCAST ๐Ÿ”ˆ๐Ÿ”ˆ๐Ÿ”Š HOW TO GROW STEEM part 1 ๐Ÿฉ

in #votu โ€ข 6 years ago

Greetings from the VOICES OF THE UNDERGROUND

This is just an introduction to a very important lesson on how the STEEM community can really prosper. I've also shared it on facebook and twitter

It is my belief that the potential of the STEEM blockchain hasn't been realised by the current investors. I also believe that investors coming to the platforms are not being sold on the right ideals and so many stakeholders have entered the ecosystem in a counteractive frame of mind.

I'm not even talking about people buying STEEM to power up.

Those of us raking in SBD and Steem Power through our use of the platform are also investors, investing our time, and we too have not realised the true potential for STEEM to become what it could.

I also believe the vast majority of the stake holders here like to use money for spending....since that's what it's for.

A thousand minnows with $100 in their crypto wallets are not as incentivised to sell as one person with $100'000 in it.

This means that 100'000 tokens are going to hold their price better when distributed more widely.

Stay tuned for part 2 ๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿฉ

A term that I hear oftem about the distribution of currency is "money velocity". Money velocity is high in a healthy economy, is what I'm being told. though I've heard a difference between money and currency that I don't realy understand.

Currencies are a type of money, typically money that is the official medium of exchange for a state (i.e. it's the only money they'll accept for the payment of taxes). Money is basically any kind of token. And yes, "velocity of money" is important because it effectively increases the money supply and stimulates economic activity. For example, imagine you gave 1 dollar to another person, they use it to buy something from someone else, but that other person just holds the dollar and never spends it. Only one person bought something with that dollar. Now imagine that you gave 1 dollar to a different person, who bought something from another person, who bought something from another person, who bought something from another person, who bought something from another person. That dollar has now been used to buy 400% more goods and services! In other words, if you increase in the velocity of money by X%, you effectively increase the money supply by X% without increasing the number of tokens produced.

Thank you, I was clinging for the right language!

Ever since I joined your sunday podcast its been nothing but awesomeness and I hope to build up my knowledge about steemit and subsequent crypto talk via #votu upvote and resteemed its worth every seconds

We are actually investors as you have said but not much people know that. They believe they are just here to earn and collect the money without looking into the future of what steem will be.
I hope people will be more enlightened on how to actually invest in steem including me.

@beanz thanks for sharing with us your ideas. I will be looking forward to the part two.

@seyiodus.

Hey @beanz, nice to meet you, that's an awesome explanation of the value of the STEEM system! Maybe we could make this into one of those infographic videos, shorten it to a minute or so - so we can share it with friends that have never heard of STEEM?
Enjoy!

I like that idea. I think this episode is a bit too advanced for complete noobs but certainly it could be simplified.

I have done it before with other people's videos

Seen that before! That's where "VOTU" was familiar from! Sent that to some of my friends interested in the subject :)

Awesome! Votu is a community that shares opinions through voice on discord! i will look forward to a beautiful day podcast Votu !

I love your Sunday podcast! I do have hope for Steemit! I think it may take some time but hopefully things will be changed somewhat and I 'll be in a spot in the future so I do not have to ever feel like I need pay the bots again. It's like a roller coaster ride really. It can be such a cool, happy place, then you might be depressed with the way it's working, but then come back full steemian lol! Thanks for having this- You've taught me a lot! See you Sunday! If anyone is into music-and would like to pick their favorite song or Artist - I am putting it on a playlist every Friday and will mention your pick- name. https://discord.gg/Q75rdh7

You really have contributed a lot to this social network, you are a guide for us.

On Sundays in front of the PODCAST computer, it gives us a lot of motivation.

That was great..
Looking forward to the second part

Awesome, look forward to listening to the podcast! I also do a show where I interview Steemit members, if you'd like to check it out! Perhaps we could collaborate sometime, or interview you as well!

I would love to do that! Are you on discord? Sure send me a message or join the votu discord if you can't find me.
