Utopian-io Witness and Chatbox Bounty (500 STEEM)
Just in case you haven't heard about it yet, @utopian-io is now up and running to be a witness. You can learn more about it on @elear original post here.
This is great news since I know that @elear will keep a really reliable node running but also because it will fund one of the most important project of the steem ecosystem.
Not only does utopian.io create a completely new use case for the steem blockchain but it will also empower one of the most important resources to any open-source project: developers.

- Enter "utopian-io" in one of the box at the bottom of the screen
This witness node will help pay for the server cost as well as the devs who are hard working right now to make it a better and better platform. Make us all a favor and go vote right now :-)
The Utopian Chatbox Bounty
Last week I decided that I would put 500 STEEM for bounty to anyone who can implement a chatbox on the utopian.io website. This is a really important development to facilitate communication between devs and open source contributors. NOBODY YET as came forward with the intension to make it happen.
This is not rocket science after all and if you were afraid of the competition snatching that bounty before you, realize that it is not the case.

Conclusion

Steem needs project proposals to overcome this issue of funding. Delegating steem doesn't give money just authority on the network.
the delegation is essential right now to reward the contributions that are being curated on their platform.
I get that, it doesn't solve the issue of funding. Creating a witness to pay for server and other costs, is slapping a band-aid over the issue of project funding. Steem needs a place where these projects can get money and not just delegation.
Oh I agree. @elear will be launching a kickstarter for funding and marketing purposes. An SMT is considered to launch an ICO too. That will get that funding taken care of I believe. (also delegation won't be necessary since we can set up the SMT direct the reward pool.

Maybe once a chatbox is created for Utopian-IO we can share it with the steemit inc team so it can be integrated into steemit.com :D
