Easily done. I will glue back seamlessy if you are careful or if you choose a new piece use quater saw for stability. Slow grown with close grain will help too. Beech is great for not splitting , that is why they used it for chair seats etc elm too
Yeah this is cheap pine. Probably going to just buy another piece of cheap pine. I wanted a nice coat rack made from nice woods, but dont have the money or tools to do what I want. So instead of waiting the GF wants a coat rack now. So she is getting a cheap coat rack that wont look as nice.
