Revolution, or Evolution?

in #writing5 years ago (edited)

I don't wanna revolve, I want to evolve.

So.. I spent some time watching some videos on revolution the other night on YouTube and it was pretty interesting stuff.

Apparently there's groups of people some perhaps independent and others working for national intelligence agencies who have been fomenting revolutions around the world.

Some of the individuals in these groups claim they are responsible for most of the revolutions in recent history and if you know your history a bit you should know the CIA has been doing this kind of stuff for a LONG time.

These people probably believe they are doing a good thing, to push Nations who have oppressive leaders towards more Democracy.

Yet.. The costs are often high and oftentimes many people die and I Just have to wonder.. Have they looked in the mirror at their own reflection in the sense that we don't even really have true freedom here?

In the United States our government has claimed the power to basically be able to take all property, food, money, etc and throw people in slave labor camps via executive orders and these orders have been around since at least the 90's but probably go back to WW2 or even WW1 or earlier.

These tyrannical powers have only become worse since 9/11. The government now claims the power to be able to assassinate anyone without due process or even having to be able to prove it in some kind of court of law.

And.. We're trying to free other Nations??? Seems a lil weird to try to free others when we aren't even free. And you can argue that other places are much less free and I would agree. But.. If the government can take everything from you in a moment without having to prove anything.. How free are we really? Seems more like an illusion than true freedom.

Sort of like the difference between a livestock animal stuck in a small cage and one let out in the field to free range graze and roam, though still enslaved nonetheless.

Also.. Is Democracy really the way to go? I think there are some valid and good places to vote. but I don't think we should ever be able to vote away someone elses rights or freedoms and in a sense Democracy can be likened to "mob rule" when it acts in that manner.

In our form of Democracy there's really no evidence that the mob even rules, studies have been done which show that our vote doesn't really matter and there's major questions about how voting works from the polling machines to the electoral college to the media as well.

Let's not forget "Democide" believed by some scholars to be the #1 cause of unnatural human death.. Governments are believed to be responsible for hundreds of millions of people dying in the 20th century and millions already in the 21st century. Is this really what we want to spread around the world?

I think it's time we really start looking at ourselves more and questioning the path we are going down.
Perhaps we should figure things out more here, before we go try to export our system on the world.

And that brings me to a question for anyone who may have happened to read this.. Is democracy the right path forward?

Representative Democracy seems like a nightmare. Direct Democracy might work to an extent, Liquid Democracy seems really interesting as well.. But in the end.. How does that vibe with true freedom?

How much freedom do you really have if the majority can vote to take it away? Seems to me like 99% of the population shouldn't be allowed to take away the rights of 1% of the population or even one person as long as they aren't unjustly harming anyone or infringing on anyone elses rights.

PS.. In the United States due to my research and understanding we're actually suppose to be a Constitutional Republic and I used to refer to myself as Constitutionalist, however.. The government does not obey the constitution and it takes a group of people to come together and "vote" in "Democratic" manner to form that constitution in the first place.

Maybe that could be considered mob rule itself to an extent though I think the issue of what our rights are should be pretty simple and self evident for anyone who is being honest and who has studied natural law.. Just ask yourself.. Would I want that done to me? If the answer is no you probably shouldn't do it to others, thus I think the "Golden Rule" is a great model to use to determine rights.

And fair enough in that not everyone is going to agree on that either, yet I think some rights are pretty obvious.. Pretty sure no one wants to be murdered or stolen from or abused without their consent and if they do.. They might not be that well in the head psychologically speaking.

A song for the mood.

Sort:

It is all an illusion, this idea they promote on freedom. Our own intelligence communities have conducted many experiments without consent not only abroad but at home (the MK experiments). They run the bulk of the drugs into the country only to subsequently jail those who sell it for them or use them. The FBI picks the winners and losers of organized crime. I have written here on all of this. My latest one examined Whitey Bulger among others.

The depths of depravity they demand from us from behind their illusion of caring and freedom is chilling.

Democracy...the right of the masses to be manipulated into targeting their neighbors for theft and bullying. They are bought with such a small slice of the theft. Yes, we were founded as a Republic with limited democratic systems. That has been flipped, and now they are making a bid to do away with the electoral college.

Most people who have power and money in their hands (politicians, heads of large corporations, show-business, banks, etc) are actually sociopaths who have lost their ability to feel and think the same way ordinary people do... So talking about morals, ethics, or feelings in relation to them is unfortunately quite pointless

As for democracy I believe that now it's just a word to brainwash people.

Interesting subject matter. I cringe when I think about how we are born slaves right from the beginning and how many people think that freedom is actually theirs when they live with such limitations. I am not an American, but I can rest assure you that this thing is going on worldwide. I ask myself why don’t we learn how to expand ourselves, why don’t we learn how to do what we love, why we should blindly learn what the teachers are teaching? In most cases we are taught 100% theory, no practice, no financial courses, no health courses, no politics either, the list is so long.. But if we get smart we get in the way, the government knows it. Have a nice day and keep these kind of posts coming!

Democracy is a double-edged sword.
Freedom is mostly an illusion - subjective, and relative. :-)

Liberating people and making them free is only the narrative. The real reason for installing democracy in a nation is to create markets and give more power to the corporations that actually control and run nations.

Its "revolt" not revolve. Just came here to say that.

Have you ever looked up the etymology/history of the word? I'm guessing no.

revolution (n.)
late 14c., originally of celestial bodies, from Old French revolucion "course, revolution (of celestial bodies)" (13c.), or directly from Late Latin revolutionem (nominative revolutio) "a revolving," noun of action from past participle stem of Latin revolvere "turn, roll back" (see revolve).

Also here's the etymology for "revolt" which also cites "revolve" as a source.

revolt (v.)
1540s, from Middle French revolter (15c.), from Italian rivoltare "to overthrow, overturn," from Vulgar Latin *revolvitare "to overturn, overthrow," frequentative of Latin revolvere (past participle revolutus) "turn, roll back" (see revolve). Related: Revolted; revolting.
