Waiting to See Me Fail
Humans are cruel and there are people out there, sometimes even disguised as friends, who are just waiting to see you fail. Hoping to say this one line for the last act: ”I told you so!”
They had many lines they wrote for themselves when you first started out:
”That is not reasonable” ”it’s not safe” ”it’s just a bubble” ”it’s a scam” ”what if what if”
but when time passed and you are still at it, they don’t have as much stage time. Instead they scour on the side of the stage, sometimes barking snarky comments about the price of bitcoin, or about some scam they read about on the goverment owned paper.
They go about their meaningless job they hate, but hey, at least it’s a steady pay. Nothing wrong with that. They see you sleeping in on a Monday because you feel like it, and going swimming and sunbathing every day in the summer, taking an impromptu weekend trip to somewhere, while they are stuck at their office job. Sure, I’d be jealous too, but if I decided to live a different life, that is on me, and not on them.
I don’t get while some people are so damn jealous, when nobody is forcing them to live the life they live. They make decisions just as I do, I just made different ones. I chose to take a huge risk and be free, instead of a steady pay in a meaningless job. I know all the risks and hurdles that come with this, but I also reap the rewards for it.
Even if all of crypto were to vanish in seconds, right now, it couldn’t take away the past year of amazing freedom and seeing the world. Even if I had to go get a real job tomorrow, I wouldn’t have failed, because I have lived. Can you say the same?

Well, you see my baking account? Not change. That is why I won't see if I fail or success, because I invest all I can lose and if I success, well... The Maldivian Islands is really far away, and will be my house if I become a millionaire.

You're literally living the Millenial "dream" (quotation marks because reality isn't just writing with a margarita on a beach), so of course people try to justify their own actions and being stuck in whatever they are without having the guts to jump into uncertainty and pull it off the way you did.
I’ve heard that these days when kids are asked what they wanna be when they grow up, they say blogger/youtuber/instafamous, which is pretty crazy. But it’s easy to see only the good sides of something like this.
Yeah, nobody thinks about the potential loss of privacy, harassers and stalkers that can come with Insta/Youtube fame.
There are a few people that I know in the space that could do what you could and you've been an inspiring factor to me. Along the way, you did not just experience this all by yourself, you took many of us with you. And I think you've met -a lot- of interesting people you would never have met if you were having a 5-9 boring job like everybody else.
Ignore the fuss, ignore the haters, jealousy is a salty bitch, in 2020 you'll be the one laughing the loudest and they will envy you.
I even made a few fwiends(is my spelling correct?) alond the way, a couple I hope to have for the rest of my life. 🤗

At least I am smart enough to know why a certain pair of shoes might draw me in, or why something I hated suddenly looks okay after I’ve seen it on 1000 gorgeous people.

My favorite author once wrote something in the lines of "a shepherd can always go back to being a shepherd, but he doesn't know if he can be a jewler" I read this 2 years ago and it stuck with me ever since, when I'm afraid to make a step forward I remember this phrase!
People don't like to take risks, that's why they never move forward in life, they think they are moving, but that is just a sense of improving that isn't true... Let them hate, let them talk, I won't say we are going to the moon tomorrow, I think it will take a couple of years, but trust me Eve, the improvement and progress I've seen in the latest cryptos... I'm 99% sure that this space is just starting, and that STEEM will be one of the top dogs later in the decade. Steem is the best marketing and free speech that ever existed, you just need to hang on and hodl on! Ur posts will make a lot of money in the future! You are one of the early adopters, the more SP and followers you have and get now, the more % of the best marketing tool you will own in the future... Think of yourself as the next Mark Zuckerberg!
I also suffer a lot of hate because of being in this space... but even during a bear market it has improved my life for the better 100x, I feel part of something! Something greater that might one day make the whole a better, safer more decentralized world! Life is all about risks, if you don't take a risk from time to time you will just go through life like a Zombie...
I’m actually super curious what you do for income because I’ve seen you mention living on crypto in your posts before. Do you have other business or income outsider of Steem?
I’m still living that desk job life - but hoping to make that jump to freedom in the next year or two. 😊
I'm a full time Steemian for a solid year already :D I did save up a lot of money before I made the jump to the unknown, but really hoping the markets turn up soon, I have zero desire to go back to the real world.
I'm sure you'll be able to do that soon, you have been building a very good foundation in the crypto world, and I do assume you are investing that hard earned desk job money into cryptos :)

To answer your question... YES I’m definitely saving all my extra money and putting it into crypto’s!! Can’t wait to see all that hard work pay off next time we have a bull run. 😊
