In 2008 I started diving into creative writing, I was only 15 (fifteen) and first I started with writing lyrics of songs, I had a book I wrote lyrics for instrumental I saw online, definetly terrible feedback sound, there wasn't soundclouds either. There wasn't smart phones in 2008 we only had radio recorders at least my parents could afford to buy one. I discovered that my friends found my lyrics worthwhile. Although I was a science student studying mathematics and other science mumbo-jumbo I felt completely ordinary but my parents really wanted me to be a scientist they felt I had a career in maybe micro biology but It was a year before I left junior high school I made a switch from sciences to pure and applied art.

I started fully writing lyrics for wanna RNB and jazz singers in my area and a few rejected them because it wasn't plain in rhymes and punchlines, rather so many deep rooted meaning to each bars, choruses and hooks. I became totally worried, then one day I wrote a verse for miss independent instrumentals by NEYO it was a hit in 2008/09 and showed it to my teacher and he felt it was rather poetic other than lyrical. That was how I learnt that a poem can be called a rap, but a rap can't be called a poem.

CREATIVE WRITING (POETRY 2010 SUMMER)

It was difficult learning how to write a poem because I had a very bad teacher in school, however a few trips to yahoo and I was able to read few poems, I saw a particular poem I CAN WRITE THE SADDEST LINES By Pablo Neruda and it stuck to me as a result of the errie emotion it left on me.
By September 2010 I started writing scrap poem, based on what I feel or what bothers me, (I had troubles growing up with my parents) it wasn't too difficult for me to write poems that were hurting. I began to feel fulfilled, it was like the void in my soul is being filled everytime I wrote a poem but then my poem were lacking so many components and literary terms that really constitutes a poem. Most importantly knowing the difference between a prose and poetry, diving poems into stanzas and verses, the element of literary appreciations and figures of speeches.

(PROSE WRITING 2011)

I gave up poetry writing and wrote a few dramas that constituted act and scenes, dialogues, epilogue, prologue and many other features seen in drama writing, but well drama confines a writer to the pages of the acts and scenes, he will have to picture a stage and therefore the fine art of descriptive imageries will therefore be prevented.
As a result of this I dived into prose writing because I wanted to soar, use words the way I wanted. Basically I love writing in a first person narratives this gives me ability to dive right in with the characters I created and paint images (basically i've been all about painting images with) so I started writing prose, I wrote a few proses and I started writing chapters for the school's life time memoirs and after I auditioned to be given the project, I won the writer's project and wrote the school's memoir in December 2011

KICKED OFF POETRY IN 2012

I left prose writing in 2011 and went back to writing Poetry in 2012, I took then to go through my verses, I studied popular poems written by popular poets checked out their Rhyme schemes just like I mapped out below, I took months to master my figures of speeches, similes, Metaphors, onomatopoeia, pun, oxymoron and so many others, then I learnt to write the types of poems, Ballad, ode, even the popular sonnet, Shakespearean and Italian sonnet.

These were a few of the poems I studied when I was mastering and honing my skills and I took time to also look at the literary appreciation, just like it was shown below.

I was already refined so I took my passion into steps, and wrote the below poems in January 2013, I kept a literature book and wrote these poems.

One of the poem is titled "LUST" and here is a video of me doing it

By the time it was 2015, I wrote so many people on fiverr for people who wanted poems for 5 dollars., most expecially they always wanted lullabies, so I wrote a whole lot of it. I couldn't Study literature In college though as a result of pressing issues I underwent but by 2016, I had abandoned prose writing and drama to fully go into poetry as my branch and genre of creative writing. And as at December 2017, I had written close to 28 poems which have won me prizes in steemit and about 300 unpublished poems, which I hope to publish someday.
Needless to say, the journey to mastery has been splendid for me.

Thanks for sharing your wonderful tale, bud! You've had such an amazing literary journey, and it's only just beginning. I'm glad that you've given us on Steemit a chance to see your growth. I like how you approach writing poetry, a balance between scientific and emotional. You write marvelous lyrical poems, and I guess your musical background lends to that. The words seem like they're begging to be sung from the page!

It's awesome that you got to keep your written work! Those would be precious artifacts that would be worth a lot when you're famous. Wow! I can't say I'm surprised that you've won awards, but seeing as you have that huge of a collection, why don't you compile your best ones and send them out to publishers?

I'm so glad you got to read, thank you so much, I'm even happier you took time to read, basically I've had time to grow work on my pieces and all, I guess it's been really starting from nothing that's why I decided to tell my story as we. Thank you also for all the support, it's really kept me going.
As for publishing, the money is too expensive, I do hope to have enough in future to publish. Thank you so much my friend.

Send your work to agents, man. It's free of charge. Since you have a lot in store, you have nothing to lose. If they ask you to shell out cash, move on because there are tons of others who will read for free.

Wow, finally. Now I can understand why you take so much time in writing and analysing your poems. They are always so indepth borne out of years and years of experience. Thank God it's a success story.

Certainly @jumokeflorencee it was really hectic back in the days but well I'm so glad at how far I've come, you're always present on my blog, I promise you a package I just want the price of STEEM to go up a little 😀😀😀😀

Hehheheheh I'm dancing 😀😁 💃

Wow... You deserve all the success you get... I had no idea you've been writing for so long

Yeah I have it's been an awesome experience, thank you for coming through.
