Big Boys & Their Yacht Toys

in #yachttoys5 years ago

So, you’ve got yourself that oh so luxurious yacht that you’ve always wanted; took her for a spin; enjoyed the sheer bliss of nautical marvel. Now what?? It just doesn’t end there my friend… Yachting, as we know it, has undergone some remarkable and magnificent transformations, some of which one would only imagine to be found in a James Bond film.

Motor yacht ORAMA - Tenders and Toys.jpg

Yacht owners have taken the concept of recreational yachting to a complete new level. We present to you an array of ‘yacht toys’ that not only promise to enhance your seafaring experience but also get your adrenalin pumping.

Limousine Tender / Jet Ski / ATV
As the saying goes: the first impression, is the last impression. The first impression your guests will have when visiting you on your yacht, is the transport you provide them to the yacht. So then why settle for just any tender when you can have the luxury of a Limousine Tender - Phantom 900. With a 300-horsepower Volvo water-jet engine, Sky View Matic retractable glass sliding roof, all leather cabin, Intertainment system, with LCD monitor at seats and of course Air-conditioning, this bad boy will provide you with 360 degrees of luxury and comfort that will complement even the most flamboyant super yacht.
However, this isn’t the only toy you can bring onboard to play with. Any super yacht is incomplete without a high-powered Jet Ski and, of course, an ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle). And all these precious babies can be tucked away in your garage on board until it’s time to bring them out to play again.

Bladefish Sea Scooter / Sea Bobs
Wish to snorkel, dive or scuba off the back of your yacht? Companies like Bladefinsh and Sea Bob have introduced the latest in underwater fun: the lithium-ion battery powered Seajet. The Bladefish Seajet uses lithium-ion batteries for long-lasting power. Lightweight, compact, powerful and agile, the Seajet makes for the best companion in all your underwater endeavors.

The seabobs electric impeller jet motor pulls you forward gently at first, but ramp it up to full power and it belts you through the breakers at a speed of 15km/h. Steer yourself by moving your bodyweight and using your legs like the tail of a fast fish, and experience the exhilaration of flying along the sand, dodging rocks, coral and startled fish as you go. It boasts of being the fastest water diving sled in the world owing to the patented E-jet power drive and the High-Energy Li-Ion technology. It can reach speeds of up to 22 km/h.

Sea Drop Underwater Camera
The realm below the surface of the sea holds treasures and sights that are beyond this world and not having a camera at hand to capture it is a shame. Hence, what you’ll need is a SeaViewer's Sea-Drop Camera, which includes powerful add-on LED lighting - blowing away other alternatives in this class. Its black and white and colour cameras have infra-red lights which captures an image in absolute darkness. 7-1/4 inches long, with a dry-weight of 2-3/4 lbs., this beauty is the most versatile probe on the Planet – be it deep-sea exploration or monitoring your swimming pool.

Submarines
Ever wondered what it would be like to get onboard, or better yet – OWN, one of those intriguing submarines that you see in the movies? Well, here’s your chance! Join the likes of Paul Allen, who has aboard his yacht - Octopus - a 40ft submarine to enjoy his underwater exploring. US Submarines brings to you, Triton 1000; a beautiful, small 2-person submersible easily launched and recovered from most mega yachts. Designed for luxury excursions, the Triton has extraordinary viewing capability, excellent surface stability and ample freeboard. The Triton is available in both 2 and 3 passenger configurations in models with diving depths of 1000 or 3000 feet.
However, leading the pack is U-Boat Worx submersibles. These lithium-ion battery technology powered vessels are the most advanced submarines ever built and have set the standards for 21st century underwater exploration.

Wake and Knee Boards / Kayaks
Kneeboarding is an aquatic sport that originated in Southern California around 1965, as a result of many surfers of the area trying to use homemade boards behind tow boats. So if you’re in the mood to ride the wind on a wake board Hyperlite has come up with Marek Bio 136 Wakeboard. With four 9 degree angled fins set just inside a two-stage channel, the Marek initiates an edge with little effort. The tip-to-tail step-down rail assures solid edge holds all the way through the wake.

Enjoy clear views of the exciting marine world under your feet, the perfect choice for adventurous travelers longing for tropical fun!, but like to travel light, inflatable kayaks is the way to go. Sleek, compact inflatable kayak that will add a new dimension to your outdoor adventures.
It’s spacious, rugged, stable and lightweight - perfect for leisurely vacations, enjoying the outdoors and underwater environment, for snorkelers, for recreational fishing and for family fun.

Sea Plane / Helicopter
The latest ‘must have’ on super yachts are helicopters. Yachts ranging from 200-450ft tend to come with helipads and helicopters as it not only ads as the quickest way to get back ashore but also to survey unchartered territories

Sapphire Seas tells us the 170-foot Feadship motoryacht Time for Us comes with a seven-passenger sea plane. And not just that; this Cessna Caravan 208 has its own pilot is included in the yacht’s weekly charter ate. Isn’t that something!!

Sea Legs
Intend to do a little exploring from sea to land, without the hassle of switching transport? Well then Sea Legs is the thing for you. It is exactly what its name suggests; an amphibious marine craft built tough to withstand all severe terrain. The unique patented technology utilizes durable hydraulic and marinised componentry for reliability in harsh environments worldwide.

Water Totter
Simple, handy, functional and fun, the WaterTotter is a product that makes you wonder as to why someone didn’t come up with it before. It’s just like a teeter totter but twice as fun, as technology has brought this activity to the water. This product is a must for any location; be it the middle of the ocean or an indoor pool.
A peak into some of the top yacht owning personalities of the world who have indulged themselves into exclusive yacht toys.

Larry Ellison’s Rising Sun has a 40ft catamaran to take his four-wheel-drive ashore for exploring trips.

Roman Abramovich is not one to balk at the odd optional extra. He’s opted for the ever-popular Eurocopter EC135 – $5 million is a fair bit of dash, but it’s neat because it weights less than 6,615lbs. Abramovich’s 282ft Ecstasea has a helipad that splits apart allowing the heliport to come up on a lift as the chopper approaches. When it’s landed, its wings fold in, and the whole affair descends back into the boat.

Flavio Briatore’s (Formula One)yacht Force Blue features a 1,290sq ft spa and a 1,075sq ft gym. There is also a cinema and stabilizers for a smooth sea-going experience.

Shipbuilder Brian Chang’s Asean Lady is fitted with a karaoke and theatre room. Larry Ellison’s Rising Sun has a cinema described by Steven Spielberg as more beautiful than anything he’s seen in Hollywood.

Sort:

Jet skis are really disruptive for the marine environment. The idea of SILENT yachting is lovely, but these icky noisy boys toys and SUCH a problem here in Thailand - they're banned from many beaches here after multiple injuries and fatalities.

@ecoTrain

@artemislives you are absolutely correct. Jet Skis causes multiple accidents not only to the people swimming in the sea but i have also come across numerous incident where the the rider is flipped over and hurt himself real bad.

The best is to sip on some wine on the yacht and enjoy the day & the luxury ;)

A simple small yacht has always been a pleasure... extreme luxury for me almost a turn off. My best ever boating experience was in a small boat 6 n miles off the west coast of Australia. In Thailand? paddling a simple traditional long boat. :) Nice thoughts. My mermaid self is wilting here in Northern Thailand just thinking about how far away the sea is!! Vietnam might be calling my name again, very soon.... or Krabi on the Andaman coast. :)

@artemislives small boats are always fun. I have a small cruiser which i love to just sit and chill, enjoy some great music and company. I reside in Mumbai, India and its currently off season for yachting due to monsoon. i cant wait for the season to commence and i can unite with the ocean. Vietnam is on my bucket list for sure. Hope you get to go out on water soon :D

I worked as a crew member on a catamaran in St. Martin for a while, and it was truly the best job I ever had! I loved every second of it, even the windy, rainy, stormy ones! A friend of mine worked as a chef on one of the luxurious yachts and one day he asked me if I could work with him for a party there. It was such a cool thing! He had the yacht to himself for a few weeks when the owners were elsewhere and he was 'yacht sitting', and I had the honor of spending some time there too. What a life! And on New Year's eve we all went to St. Barths to celebrate the New Year with Sylvester Stallone and Puff Daddy! Thse were the days...
