Beautiful Sunday, Sublimely So
Today, I went to a place where adults hang out like kids. No really! It is a pretty laid back crowd and many people come and bring coffee and chat, all the while, showing off their cars. I was happening by and saw this:
I am not all about "what's under the hood" and especially because he put it together - his way, which is the only way if you are having fun! But, I am sure there are car aficionados out there that will beg to differ. At this point, I will agree to disagree if you do. LOL
The International Harvester Truck was made by the tractor people and it was a workhorse. Not, the tomboy in me would love one of these. I think I just love the old-timey lines in them. Classy looking little thing, isn't she? I am not sure if it had a truck bed in it at one time, but, I suppose it did. So many of them are flatbeds that I see around. Rust is king after a while, I would guess.
The first Harvester was built in 1940 and it looks like this guy did some fancy-dancy edits to his. I still like it! What can I say? I am probably one of those people that has a knockoff Prada purse in her closet and it happy about it.
And this was what my friend @c0ff33a would describe as a totally random #SublimeSunday. And it was! I even topped it off with swirled chocolate and vanilla cone, waffle, of course. I hope that your Sunday is awesome and hoping we all have a fabulously wonderful week! You know you want to!

I always post this poem down at the bottom of my posts. It is one that has become so near and dear to my heart. I only post the most famous part of it, but, wanted to post it in its entirety today.
i cried the way women on tv do
folding at the middle
like a five pound note.
i called the boy who use to love me
tried to ‘okay’ my voice
i said hello
he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?
and these are what my prayers look like;
dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,
"everywhere"
"everywhere"
Fantastic shots of classic machinery enjoyed outdoors with glorious weather. I would call that a great Sunday for sure.
I will have to live vicariously through you as the snow is still here and we are a little bit away from them poking up.

I will admit it, the weather was glorious and almost 80 degrees. I cannot believe it was so beautiful! And in saying that, I cannot believe that you still have snow!

No, is the short answer. There are honestly too many wonderful things that made my Sunday beautiful, but, if I put them all, people would get tired of reading, so I just focus on one aspect of it.

I am not big on the super suped up cars, but that IH truck is cool. We dont see many of them up here. We have a group that meet up at the local Big Boy every Wednesday in the summer. I will have to get some pics and put it in a post. I had a pretty cool 72 Nova and my buddy had a Monte Carlo from 71. Oh those high school days. Good I wish I could have a redo on that!!

Now that sounds like fun, meeting up at the Big Boy every week like that. The weather probably has a lot to do with those cars. They seem to be more popular in the warmer climates and huge out in the desert especially where there is no rust to be had.

That will be cool to see some pictures when you do go. I have seen people take amazing pictures of cars and I am not sure how they do it or why they look so good. There has to be a secret to it all.
Would you believe I had a Nova too? Ha! They were built to last forever once-upon-a-time. Now, a car barely lasts until the payments are finished.
Sigh.

Hi Denise....I love these vintage cars, they always have a nostalgic feeling as if you go back to the past and get back to its history. I watched the Higwaymen last night with Kevin Costner killing Bonnie and Clyde inside their beautiful car....and they showed too all the while all those lovely cars the same as these ones you posted.

I remember Bonnie and Clyde and all those beautiful cars. You have to wonder why they went away from such beauties? I want one just to tool around in, just for the fun of it. Can you imagine? I always give these another look if I pass one on the road. I am pretty sure that they were a luxury item way back when and they were well loved.

It takes a real talent to make old cars seems sublime but you did it!
Well, honestly, cars are not in my range of things I take pictures of, but, admittedly, it was a little bit fun and usually I just look because for some reason, they can be tricky (for me) to photograph, They look way cooler than I can make them look, however, I want to thank you for the kind words!

These meet-ups are not truly organized, but, there always seems to be a crowd. They do it year-round here and people wander around and take pictures and chew the fat with each other. It is kind of fun. :)

There are a few meet ups here regularly each Week, one on Sunday Down Town, One on Wednesday at the Beach one on Thursday at Goodies and the bigger one at McDonalds on a Friday, Last Year I was often later home and missed most of them but this year I hope to get to more of them

I guess those meetups are pretty popular everywhere, but they can be fun.
LOL OK maybe then I should clarify, I Might think about, thinking about, considering the very unlikely scenario, where I would maybe ponder the pros and cons, considering of course the weather conditions, which of course can not be predicted very far in advance that I may think about, dang now I have forgotten what I was thinking about to the chances are very slim of whatever it was :)
The meetups sure can be fun and all the ones I have been to they are such a fun crowd of people
