The day has started a little darker than the sunshine in my heart. I close my eyes, then breathe in some happiness and sunshine. Some days, you have to give it a kickstart. So, if your day is having a hard time getting going in the right direction, slide over, I got this! 💖 For you? Anything.
Take a moment of peace, quiet your soul, then, open wide and let the sun shine in. This melody of life brings joy to my heart, now and again.
Now and again.
A flower. Always. There must always be a flower to color my world. This flower is dedicated to #SaturdayPurple #ColorChallenge by @Kalemandra, for she knows how it's done.
For my soul can only take so many days of darkness before it breaks out in a fit of sunshine.

I always post this poem down at the bottom of my posts. It is one that has become so near and dear to my heart. I only post the most famous part of it, but, wanted to post it in its entirety today.
they set my aunts house on fire
i cried the way women on tv do
folding at the middle
like a five pound note.
i called the boy who use to love me
tried to ‘okay’ my voice
i said hello
he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?
i’ve been praying,
and these are what my prayers look like;
dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.
later that night
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,
"everywhere"

Sunshine is magical and warms the soul. John Denver sure knew about it. One of the main reasons why I am compelled to move is the abysmal number or gloomy days we have here. We truly live in a gray dome! I can see why the sun figured so prominently in many of the ancient religions. I core ingredient to life and happiness!

I guess I never thought about it from your perspective, but, you are probably on to something there. I cannot tell you how many people I have met over the year that use the Light Therapy Boxes for seasonal depression. Well, not even depression, but, it lightens the mood for sure.
There is more than a fair share of cloud cover up there, I can remember from the house I had in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. But, it was easy to forgive and move over it when I was only going to be there for the summer fun. You could swim in the rain and do anything else you wanted to when it was a vacation, right?

Oh I never get depressed mind you, yet it does get annoying waiting for days to get some decent light to be able to shoot in. The struggle is real, I tell ya! I know you get many many more sunny or even partly sunny days. I cant wait!
Exactly, I know you don't get depressed. That is what I said... I don't want you thinking I believe you to be depressed. :)
You don't have to be depressed to use those, you simply need a little more sun. People in Michigan should have a sauna with those in it! :)
I am sure that struggle is real. Not going on vacation is a struggle. I have struggles too. Just saying.

Oh I LOVE a sauna and want one in my new house! I first got in one about 40 years ago while fly in fishing at a remote lake in Canada. They had the proper old school ones with the real fire!

The one I had in the UP had the proper old school one. Everyone up there does. I miss it and loved using it every day.

The sun even made a brief appearance here today and I got out for a little walk, but the real sunshine and beauty I have seen today is the glorious images in this post

Oh, how perfect, yes? The sun was in and out today, but, then it was a torrential downpour for last night. Oh, the magic of rain at night and the freshly washed landscape in the morning. Surely it is making it a #beautifulsunday!

Not even a glimpse of sun here today has been raining all day and LUlu and I are feeling it in our bones, but tomorrow the forecast looks great so I will hopefully get a walk in before work ;)
