This is definitely not from today, but, this is what was happening the day I got home from my vacation a few days back and I haven't actually been out to walk since. Of course, my plane was probably one of the last to land and then the airport and the rest of the world here in the Washington, DC area closed up shop.
So come and enjoy a walk through the one snowstorm we could call our own as we do a #WednesdayWalk with @Tattoodjay. Oh, you know you want to!
It was a cold and windy night. No! It really was! Although this was morning, it was pretty dark. I can see it coming down like a torrential rainstorm. Except for snow. You know life is good when it starts coming down faster than that.
I need to put out the flag and put some seed in the feeder. Our little feathered friends need a little nourishment with the impending cold about to roll in.
Seems like everyone in the neighborhood put their windshield wipers in the upright position so that they wouldn't freeze to the windshield. That is reasonable, no? I have heated the car up a few times to melt the ice. Not a pretty sight when you are trying to make a quick getaway!
It looks the same everywhere that I walk. Trees are laden with the weight of the snow and ponds everywhere in the neighborhood, waiting to be skated on. That will never happen, not now or anytime soon. I have never seen it get cold enough to freeze the water.
I admit that I do miss ice skating and have only been to an ice rink to skate in recent years. I guess I need to go further North one of these winters. Instead of the islands.
It was cold and wet. That is the best I remember it. I turned around and headed back, sleet hitting my back. This was really going to make a nice sheet of ice on the roads. Sigh. And it did.
The only thing I can be grateful for is that this is a once a year, maybe twice event and it only lasts for a day or three. I can get on board with that. Nothing earth shattering and I really do enjoy the four seasons. Just need to have an even spread of them.
All is calm. All is bright.
And just like that, this walk is over.

The snow was really beautiful, right until the sleet covered it, and then rain and then snow and then it froze and the next morning, it was mostly gone. Then the sun came out and took the rest away... Camelot awaits you!

We have a real springtime weather here in Annecy for two weeks, we begin to take habits that will be hard to leave if ever it would come winter and snow again ! 😄
True!!! My snow lasted one day, then spring. Today is beautiful and it would be hard to go back to winter now, although March is always a tricky month with the weather for us.

Oh, you know that I don't do winter well! I love the Four Seasons but they can take winter and put it you know where. In that box oh, that's where!
I actually have scheduled my vacations for when there's going to be bad weather something years. This year it was scheduled ahead of time and I just got lucky! Thank you, as always for the words!

I didn't think it snowed in DC that really looks cold and miserable but great on photo but did you say it only happens for a couple days or so ??
It generally only snows one-time coronated to in the Washington DC area. So that makes it a lot easier to live with even when it does snow, it usually disappears within a day or two.
I know! The struggle is real!

A snowy walk for you! Beautiful photos. Has it all melted yet? !Tip
It melted the very next day! Can you believe that? It rained, iced and sleeted. Then the sun came out and the temperature went up 35 degrees and it melted.
Life is good. :) It can snow every day if it does that.
I am waiting impatiently for the day that we have a nice melt! It is not going to happen this week though. Below-zero temps again.
We have had a couple of flakes fall today but tonight we may get some but only an inch hopefully it doesnt all turn to ice , and I always forget to put my wipers up, including this morning so I hope the snow does not come early :)

I heard it was snowing there, all my people cry about the snow that they are still getting. Ugh! Another person who doesn't do the windshield wipers! Obviously, you haven't had to sit for an hour waiting for them to unthaw many times. LOL
I hear you in winter, although I cannot complain. We hardly have any and this went away the next day!

I know!!! Right??? Thank goodness it was here one day and literally gone the next. I still like the four seasons, but, am glad that winter isn't all of them.
I totally adore you snow photos. Something magical and peaceful about being outside when it is snowing SO hard.
It's so beautiful when it does snow and I am in agreement with you that there is something so magical about fluffy flakes descending from the sky. I'm also glad that we don't have an abundant amount of winter weather, but it is nice to have four seasons.
