BOODLE FIGHT! It is A Beautiful & Sublime Sunday when Friends Come Over bringing an abundance of FOOD!
Some of you may know that I have been unwell for almost two weeks now since the New Year's Eve.
The concern received from steemit community friends especially from my SSG family has been heartwarming and kept me going. It served as the spur for me to put the effort to continue posting an article every day. Thank you for caring!
My friends are likewise thoughtful, caring, and overwhelmingly loving towards me for which I am most grateful.
Today, eleven of my friends came to my home and surprised me with a...
BOODLE FIGHT!!!
Have you experienced a Boodle Fight?
First they lined my dining table with plastc picnic table covers, then laid sheets of banana leaves over the table covers.
After which they placed steamed rice and fried garlic rice on the center of the table.
Next were the different entrees and side dishes.
Everyone helped in setting up the food table. It was quite a bustling and fun production, hectic yet lively, almost like a madhouse! My friends unanimously limited my participation by making me stay in the sidelines.
Observing all the bustling activity in my dining room and the realization of what it entailed to do this for me brought tears to my eyes.
Friends are true blessings from heaven!
The food table looked so amazingly appetizing, we all just wanted to start eating,
but not until we said the Prayer Before Meals (of course!)
I thanked my dear friends for this incredible celebration of friendship, and expressed appreciation for their unsurpassed thoughtfulness, caring, affection and love!
Then then I rang my dinner bell to give the signal... and we all ate with gusto!
The food won!
Note: The table is being refreshed and cleaned at the time of writing this article. We will have a dinner buffet set-up, and we'll be eating our left-overs using China and silverware.
I assure you all that we are not wasteful group of people.

I think that having friends like them is one of my greatest blessings. I am very very grateful always when I meet new people, offer my friendship, and they accept and reciprocate... it is the greatest thing ever!!!

I certainly had iron in the barbecued chicken and meat, the eggs and the spinach in the soup (not shown in the photos, which I ate mostly), and of course in the chocolate cake... and B12s in the fish and almost all the meats.

That is a crazy feast!
Super fun.
Under normal circumstances, I would beat them all to eating the most food- I have a great appetite and I eat anything. I think that my friends did this feast for me precisely because they know how I eat. I did try my very best, but they actually ended up making broth for me with spinach and bok choy. We had great fun, and they stayed over for dinner, and they each brought home leftovers from that meal. I am very blessed to have friends like them, and I am truly grateful.
