A Butterfly and Apple Blossoms

I Love Gelly Roll Gel Pens

I haven't touched a gel-pen in over twenty years. I bought 68 pens of varies colors the other day, to get my money's worth you will be seeing a lot of gel pen drawings...hahaha

11x 14 Black Sketch Paper and Sakura Gelly Roll Pens

I decided to do a series of butterfly line drawings with my new gel pens. I'm keeping the drawing simple, butterflies and flowers are perfect.

I blended the colors on the butterfly and outlined the flowers in opaque white gel pens. The leaves and flowers I outlined with varies colors, keeping everything simple. I added a pink transparent color on top of the white because the black absorbs all colors. I had to do this with all the transparent colors; it's true, black absorbs all colors.

I used white charcoal pencil and drew simple outlines. The charcoal is easily rubbed away once the subjects are outlined, so simple and fun!

Wow! I think the idea of the new gel-pen is really making your work fast and more efficient. What a great art you just do, I hope to see more of your gel pen soon.

Thanks the other day for asking of my well being, that's so kind of you. Hope you have reach agreement with that guy about #seahorse art you made recently?

Thanks for sharing this beautiful art with us @reddust

The guy who wanted to buy the Kelpie didn't send a message, sometimes that happens. That's okay though...@ohakfarm, you were gone for a couple days taking care of something if I remember correctly...after drawing all day my memory is shot...haha

Yes, I'm settling some issues in my work place. About the kelpie,The value of art stays with it, all your work is an asset in the future. Thanks for the care always.

@reddust, Most of adorable gel pen work of A Butterfly and Apple Bloosoms. My heart connect with your color contribution. Its so delightful than water color arts. How about gel pen art works? Is it easy or hard than water color painting? I learn more things from you. Thanks mam.

@madushanka, the colors I use are my favorites, I haven't worked on black paper before, it is interesting to figure out how to get my colors to stand out...hehehe

very cool. I wish i had those talents. my unique abilities was to create systems with code now I'm in real estate which surprisingly still allows creativity to be part of the job.

@realestatecoach, you have the sales ability which is creative...all you have to do is sit down with a good Youtube tutorial art coach and start practicing. One drawing a day for a month will give you a great start. I'm self taught, although I have been drawing and playing with art since I was a small child. I truly believe anyone can tap into their creative artsy-fartsy side and create fantastic works of art!

With practice we can become better at things but I do not think its where my skills lay. Mine is more on the business and systems side. I love reviewing results from efforts made. Nerdy but useful. :)

It's been a while, where have you been. This new post of yours is very beautiful as usual, are you doing this work if yours for them to be exhibited or just for fun because they're really good.

@tobex sometimes I have to take a couple days off and let my brain rest and relax or I will burn out...But after a day or two I always show up on Steemit, it has become a habit after almost 2 years of posting on this site. Plus I like talking to all of you.

That's lovely to hear, thank you. And you sure deserve some time off, it could be stressful here at times. I wonder how you reply all this comment you get on your post. In fact that is why I love visiting your blog you never snub anyone, that's very nice of you.
