I like when I can make a prediction and feel good that it will come true as predicted. Earlier in the past week , I think it was on Wednesday, I predicted that I would reach the REP milestone of 60 over the Thanksgiving weekend and it was in the wee hours of Sunday morning Texas time that I published the Daily Dose for Sunday.

Prior to publishing that post I took a look over at SteemWorld to see just how shy I was of reaching the sixty number and I was ever so close; just lacking 0.004 of the magic number milestone.

I felt really good that by the time I woke up in the morning I would have made it. The posting of the Daily Dose to the block chain had taken place but I also needed to do some reading and upVoting in order to share my link in the post promotion channels of #thesteemengine and also #ssteemitbloggers so it wasn’t lights out and head on the pillow just yet.

I got those tasks accomplished and by the time I decided to call it quits and get some sleep I took one last look at the Daily Dose. My home page of my blog was displaying the big “60”, or least big in my eyes, and so I had to look and see who it was that pushed me across the threshold of the sixty doorstep.

I see I am no longer a billionaire according to steemit.com and I also want to thank @eonwarped for explaining to me that the $87 billion I did have was a cosmetic error. I sure as hell don’t know what he meant by “cosmetic error” but I thank him all the same.
I know if I decided to write $87 billion in checks on my checking account the bank wouldn’t call it a “cosmetic error” but regardless of cosmetics, there is still a discrepancy in the valuation of my account, how about yours?

According to steemi.com my account is now valued at $310.09 but SteemPlus is showing it at $245.67 so what type error does that classify as?
In the grand scheme of things the difference of $64.42 really doesn’t matter to me since I have no plans on cashing anything out. When you do the math though, that is a 21% difference in valuation and that is just too big of a % difference to be considered “cosmetic” if someone were to try and label it that. So what gives here?

I am just trying to understand how this stuff works and is computed, just like you, I am waiting for the steem to gain back value but this is as good of a time as any to learn exactly how these numbers are derived. So if you know the answer please enlighten me in the comments below. I am pretty sure there are others just like me who have a discrepancy and don’t know how these numbers are computed.

As I do reflect back on my time here I have really met some great people and sadly some of those have split the scene from steemit. Mostly by their own choice from what I can determine but there is one that I do know that had to give up posting on here not by her own choice.

@cecicastor is well known to most of you folks who read the Daily Dose on a regular basis and I ask that you keep her in your prayers if you would. Her country of Nicaragua is in shambles right now both from an economic standpoint and an infrastructure standpoint as war has broken out there.
When she and her family can get out of their family compound to make a run for groceries it really is a life and death situation. So, I mention this that we all might offer some prayers to whatever higher power we believe in; in hope that that power will help protect her and her family during these times of war.

So very glad I was there when you reached the big 60, congratulations! You really deserve reaching this milestone; you make us stop and think, you make us smile and chuckle many a time, you also make us hungry with your bbq reviews even though you have not shown us your bbq's yet and most of all you make this little world here a much better place! @cecicastor is in my prayers, a brave lady, I would have run back to Canada by now, but she's way too busy helping the little cling-ons survive, a big heart for sure!
I am glad you right there too. I also treasure this comment of yours because you pointed out that, "you make us think" , and that is something that I have always intended to do and have tried to inspire people to do when I write these Daily Doses.
It doesn't matter if people agree or disagree with what I have to say as far as I am concerned. We all have our own believes and what we take as being true or the truth. But we should at least consider what others are saying and not just dismiss it without any thought.
I also know that I can't just come here each day and press on issues so I do try to mix things up and maybe write something that will put a smile or chuckle with those reading it.
As for the BBQ and why you haven't seen any of mine there is a good reason behind that; Mrs. Papper.
Mrs. Papper has a real problem with smoke. If she gets the slightest whiff of smoke it instantly gives her a migraine headache. Even if she stays in the house it is no guarantee that she isn't going to catch some of the smoke. The smoker is on the back patio and just going in and out the doors can let in enough smoke to ruin her day.
The fact that it takes about 6 to 8 hours to slow smoke the meat like I like it doesn't help and I keep a smokey fire. So I had to give up cooking on the smoker. In fact, we still burn the some of our trash and the burn pile is a good ways from the house, but I still have to watch the wind and make sure that there isn't a chance of any smoke being blown towards the house. The normal day for me burning the trash has been Saturday's but some days I would have to skip because of the wind.
One thing that the church boycotting by me and Blondie has allowed me to do is burn the trash on Sunday mornings now while the Mrs. is at church so that has really helped out. I get it gathered and piled and when the Mrs. pulls out of the end of the driveway I get it lighted. So by the time she gets back there isn't any chance of her smelling any smoke.
I love to cook the BBQ and maybe some day I will be able to get a brisket or two cooked when I know she will be gone all day or overnight but it just isn't in the cards right now.
@cecicastor is one person that we need to keep in our prayers and she is a brave lady, without question, very brave. I appreciate you keeping her in prayer.

Congrats on 60. It's not like we all didn't know it was coming. I'm going to guess it was buttcoins that sent you over because the deal is weighted to higher rep votes. It's why you gain so fast at the start and so slow as you go up. It takes a reputation higher than yours to move the meter.
For the record: I'm still most of .7 behind you. So your vote for me ups my rep while my vote to you doesn't help yours much. Sorry. :)
I think the difference in valuation is due to how and where the markets are calculated. Different exchanges have slightly different values AND Steemit uses a 3 day average so it's higher when the market goes down and lower when the market is rising.

Working off of the three day average would make sense on the difference and @eonwarped also said something about Steemit still considers SBD at $1.00 valuation so I guess the only true thing about the wallet at any given point in time is quantities of steem & sbd you have, which is fine. I am just trying to understand things more and being in sales damn near my whole life, I pay attention to numbers and percentages and when I see a 21% difference between what I think should be the same or really close, I start asking why it doesn't match.
Mr. Butt is most likely the kicker the other night, but like I said each and every vote that drove me to that position is equally important in the grand scheme. (I have been using that a lot lately, "grand scheme", something must be up with that.)
There are a few people who I need to make sure I focus and reading and upVoting, you included, on helping to drive their number higher. You are every bit deserving of being at 60 already along with a couple others who read and follow me regularly.

Yeah steemit website still treats 1 SBD as 1$ for the time being, so it is not entirely accurate with regards to current market prices. It might be considered as valuation in SBD though (as if it converted your STEEM to SBD internally, even though it's not possible). Note that blockchain conversion rate does not necessarily match market rates. Depends on timing... But now I might have lost you.
Suffice it to say, it doesn't quite reflect what you would get if you were to cash it out at market rates.

I think I have it now, pay no attention to the values shown, just know that the quantities of steem and sbd are correct.
I think that is all that we can be certain of, since the values are fluctuating and computed on averages and such.

As far as @cecicastor she is in our prayers. She is a true hero. She stayed at the compound when I felt she should leave but I understand as she is so brave.
She was waiting for her son to make it there and in the mean time she helped those that lived there. As a nurse she was able to rescue and help one guy. Read her old posts.
One day she will make it back to her home in Canada and we will all welcome her back to Steemit. It is wonderful of you to mention her. Even if she is safe she explained to us that it is dangerous for her to be writing about what is going on for obvious reasons.
Thanks @rebeccabe for the kind words. I am well aware of her situation, I have been friends with her on here from October of last year and read her posts all the time.
I to agree that she needed to leave but like she said, she wasn't leaving any of her family behind and when her son couldn't make it to where she was that was that, she was staying put until he could get there.
Hopefully we'll get another message from her in discord and find out the current situation, until then we can just pray for their safety.
Last we heard the government was turning off power and water for days at a time and that is pretty desperate times for sure. It would sure be good if she could get back to Canada and rejoin us here, she is truly one special lady.

Thank you Tiffany. I have the number in my rear view for age as well. I am real sure you will be hitting the 60 in no time at all. Honestly, if anyone deserves a higher REP it is you. You give way more to all the communities that you are involved with than anyone I know of on here.
I thought I would mention Ceci simply because it is the holidays and she is a great lady that we need to keep on our prayer lists and this is an easy time to forget about people when they are out of sight.

Yes, your 87 million was probably more like 87 billion but who cares when the numbers are that high to begin with. And according my source, it was just a cosmetic error, just like if your mascara ran from crying, just wipe it away with a tissue and everything is better.
Had it been over a 100 billion error it might have qualified as a "rounding error" would be my guess but my guy didn't say that, only my guess on that. I think the people running the accounting for steemit must all be former US government employees in order to make errors that big and classify them as being small, "cosmetic " if you will.
I think your chances of 60 are a lot higher than 88 million of steem so set your sights there first and then go for the big number.
I saw one post that said it was only showing the wonky numbers on steemit.com but not other portals, so I think that's what they meant by "cosmetic." But I had fun yelling #cryptobillionaire as often as possible nonetheless. ;)
My understanding is that it was "wonky" on all the sites but the other portals took it as a priority to get corrected and did so very quickly, steemit.com just dragged their feet on getting it corrected.
Kind of intentionally if you ask me, trying to place a subliminal thought in our minds that we, really could become billionaires with steem if we just hang in and don't give up on it.

I think you are right, the higher up the scale you go the harder it becomes to grow that number. I plan on keeping on trucking as you say but I might be moving in low gear climbing this next mountain.

I really don't pay that much attention but everyone who started on here about the same time as me is right at or just passed that 60 number so I had seen it brought up and mentioned quite a bit. Hopefully I will only have to reach it on here one time but you never know who I might piss off in the future and get knock back down pretty hard below it.
