Foodie's penguin!
A couple of days ago, I played around in Photoshop a little, because I had an idea in mind. It worked out well in the end and it resulted in a few new items in my shop!
One of the new designs is my penguin picture, just a little different.
It's available here on Redbubble and I'm quite happy with the looks of it. Especially on the pillow! I was so happy in fact, that I decided to write a sales pitch for it in my Facebook group:

I'm selling the design on a couple of other items, like a few shirts. I think I like the mug second best though:
It's because of the artistic edges, which turned out quite awesome on the mug.
Anyway, to be honest, I'm showing you this, because I feel like crap (physically) and I'm not able to write any kind of half-decent post about anything else right now. It's my blegh day, tomorrow aswell probably. Should be better after that.

Fair warning: Beggars, copy/paste comments and obvious bot comments will get flagged.
Sometimes new designs just pop up when you are doing something. For creative and artistic people they can see potentiality of one thing, that leads to new designs and can be profitable and this is what i see in you.

I must say, you're very creative @playfulfoodie. I'm not much of a penguin lover, I however do like the mug's design and ultimately that of the pillow. It must be really comfortable resting on the penguin-lol Keep up the good work

Thanks @gillianpearce! I took the picture of this penguin when we were at the zoo. This little guy decided to take a walk amongst the visitors and caused quite a scene. Everyone wanted to take pictures with him :D

You have good collection...I love Christian penguins. Because, Christian penguins have a similar look, black and white playmax with sharp red crown and prominent yellow crystals.

Yeah, penguins are super cute. When I started with this possession, they were hard to get, but now they are everywhere (my relatives have a pretty easy life when buying presents for me :D). We have wall stickers in the living room, pillows, a lot of plush toys (20+/-), figurines (from Kinder Surprises, etc.), magnets, a few T-shirts/sweaters/sweatshirts and other stuff, but some mug is still missing! :D
Hah, yeah I bet! Sounds like a real penguin museum at your place! How does your guy feel about that? :D
Well, he's allergic to dust, so often he tells me to hide my plush penguins into some bag and put it to wardrobe, but otherwise, he's okay with it :D
Ooh, that sounds like quite a rought allergy with dust all around us!
It's not a hardcore allergy, so we don't have to live in a vacuum but when there is a lot of dust (+ pollen because he's allergic to it too), he has a sniffle, his eyes hurt, etc. It's the worst when we are on a trip and wind makes a dust cloud.
The penguins just lie on a closet, so if he doesn't sniff them, it should be OK :D Occasionally I hoover them.

It's pretty hard to make sales, so I'm not expecting much. I haven't spend any time trying to figure out how to best use adds to improve sales yet, so for now, people just have to accidentally stumble upon my work :-)
I can imagine it's rather hard without advertisement, which requires money upfront before you make any. Is Redbubble a big selling site where you live, I've never heard of it in the UK. Although taking a look at the site I really like the layout and everything is easy to find. I know sites like Etsy are rather popular for quirky bits like you sell :)
Redbubble is just a site I happened to have some of my pictures on and later forgot all about it. Years later I received an e-mail that I made a sale, checked out the site and saw that they completely revamped it. It used to be a Deviantart kinda thing with artists as the main focus. Now their main focus seems to be sales, so I decided to add my newer pictures and made some designs for them too.
There's a Dutch picture sales site, but honestly, with the huge amount of competition all over the world, I figured I shouldn't stick to the Netherlands as a market.
Etsy is pretty popular, but as far as I know, they only facilitate in showing off your products and selling them, but they don't actually do any printing or shipping. Seeing as all I do is sell pictures and designs and I don't want anything to do with the printing/shipping, Etsy isn't for me :-)
Yeah thats probably the best idea, keep it local to begin with. Fair enough I didn't realise the difference between Etsy and Redbubble. I have no idea what it's like to sell things online obviously 😅
