Lavender
Today seemed like a perfect day to harvest the first bunch of lavender and I thought why not celebrate it with my very first dlive as well. So happy! Hope you enjoy!
Growing lavender has not been the easiest for me. Weather conditions here are by no means ideal for these plants, but this summer seems to be pretty close to how it should be. In comparison. I planted my six lavender plants last year, in June. It was cold, miserable and raining the whole summer, so they almost did not grow at all. Lavender does not like wetness in the soil much. So no flowers. Nothing.
Look at this now! I wish you could smell this! I just love, love the scent of lavender and as you probably have noticed already, I love, love that it is purple. Fifty shades of purple, please!
Does this make me lavender growing expert now? I wish. This trial and error has seen some dead lavender plants. Killed by too much water, cat savages and some frost damage. Attempts to grow them from seeds failed multiple times. Still feel like I have no idea what I’m doing when it comes to lavender and whether it is the right time to harvest even. However sources say it is better to harvest before flowers are fully open. So I did. Ready for hanging up and drying ^^

And as ever, I envy you. You should have seen the size of the 4 lavender plants I had at the entrance to my place. 2 on each side of the gate. They were splendid!

Well, bumblebees and bees make me a little nervous when harvesting though. Have to remember gather my long, long hair in a bun, hehe.
I can imagine ^^ I now wish I had my own land, I would become lavender farmer or something.
I did see it, however I am really terrible on camera. I get really nervous and don't know what to say or how to say anything. Not sure if I am up to the challenge.
lol... That is exactly why you should do it! (You saw how I was... Completely awkward ;P).
How about doing something different and interesting, like using make-up to make a mime mask or something like that? That way, you can gt crazy and creative, and still be "hidden" in a way ;) ... Or you could do a "Walk Down Memory Lane" video...: Set up the camera and then go through your art from years ago and talk about certain pieces that you remember for so-and-so reason and how you felt at the time, etc

Very nice and relaxing little video there M. Lavender does much the same, very relaxing in every application. Glad you finally got to enjoy the fruits (lavender) of your labour, what are your plans with the lovely lavender?

I will figure it out as I go. I really want to try to make some handmade soap and use some lavender in there. I just hanged these to dry in my room by the window. Scent is just so amazing!
Lots of big achievements started as dreams hey so chase it if you want it. That soap sounds awesome, I like natural products, smells devine and the skin appreciates it. Anything lavender smells gorgeous and it must help you sleep better at night?

Oh wooow! This really does look wonderful. Gosh, if only there was a way to share smells with one another. Tessellate is such a lavender song. alt-J is lavender.
