Can we live without rules ? - I think : no rules = mess !

in #dtube5 years ago (edited)

I've seen some people afraid to set rules in their communities and some of them even don't accept rules of some communities.

If we are building something, so we can lead people by setting some rules for them and it's ok I think.

Let's imagine that we have a government without any laws or without the police, what will happen to people so ?

Even thinking about steem blockchain, we have rules in each application including steemit, and you can read about them here : https://steemit.com/faq.html

If you join any community build on steem blockchain in discord, you will find them also setting rules for members.

Even steem blockchain is having some rules related to the upvote system and the rewards.

I think having no rules in a community lead to a big mess.

The rules not only dictate to people what to do, but they are kind of support to not have people lost or confused.

What do you think about this topic ? Do you think that communities should have rules or they shouldn't have them at all ?

As always, thanks for watching my videos and reading my posts.

Rules make man man and life life, so without them the two would not exist. I know naturally we all hate rules to some extent but rules are made to free us not to bind us. We are free to do certain things because the law as given us that freedom otherwise some people may have not allowed you to do certain things, so rule are good in spite of our hate

You are right. Thanks for commenting. ☺

We can't live without rules but when the responsible put the rules we wish there was no rules lol, the human nature always follow the quote: rules are made to be broken.

Yeah, not every quote can be right. I think those who are spreading that quote is just to make people not follow the rules. Not following some rules in our lifes may lead to big troubles.

@clixmoney, if you mean STEEM Blockchain, than I think the rules are prescribed in the protocol. So, yes we have rules and we have to comply with them if we want to be on the STEEM Blockchain. Also, every dApp has his own rules on the top of the protocol of STEEM Blockchain. So, if someone wants to use some certain dApp than he/she has to comply with the these rules. Of course if someone doesn't like the rules can switch to other dApps or ecosystems. That's my point of view.

Yeah, the same for any community. We have a lot of them on steem blockchain and every community is setting its own rules. We always can leave a community if we don't like its rules. I was in a lot of communities before and I left them just because I didn't like their rules and I think there is no issue in that. Here is where I see my freedom. ☺

My opinion is clear that we cannot live without rules, since a world without rules would be a complete chaos.

If only with established laws and regulations that have it all. Many people do not comply, and that's why society finds itself with so many negative results.

Let's take an example: A worker who breaks the rules in the company, causes an accident by ignoring the rules, will affect both his colleagues, the client and the company.

Rules have a purpose and that's what they were created for.

Good video @clixmoney, greetings from Venezuela.

Thanks for commenting. Yeah, rules are importnant, I'm sure about that now.

Rules are hard.

Because rules, like laws, aren't really enforceable unless most people are already going that way.

So, the rules actually are a guideline of where the boundary is.
Unlike F-c-book, Patty-eon, Boogle "terms of service", which are wishy-washy catchalls, rules need to define pretty clearly which things are in and which things are out.

The other part of rules is that they must clearly outline punishment.

And so, developing rules, and allowing them to grow and adapt is a real balancing act. However, if there is no rules, the places usually just attracts people who like to shit all over things.

You are right, especially in the last sentence. I'm dealing with that now and setting some rules for the community I'm building, that's why I decided to talk about this topic. It's also a big responsibility to set the right rules for everyone. We need to think about a lot of aspects while writing them.

Rules and more Rules. It is a shame that governments and management of companies make rules and regulations to things that they know nothing about it. However It is still important to have laws though. It's just a matter of having the proper balance. Yes we do need rules so society can flow properly. But often at times there are too many rules. that only benefit the top 1% who can do what they wish anytime. Thanks so much for presenting this. very good thoughts and could create a good discussion in the future.

Yeah, maybe those rules benifit some kind of people, but at least we are living in peace. It could be even worse I think. I agree with you that we have a lot of them, but what if we didn't have them at all. It will be a mess for sure.

I think we, as human beings, have not yet grown to such a level of awareness not to use the rules.
When there are rules, it becomes clearer and easier to interact.

Of course. Glad you understand that and so many people here. ☺

I gave some thought to this question...

We can try to live without rules but we will fail because we will keep confronting people that have rules.

Rules are essential to divine order in the universe. They are essential to accomplishing success, especially when your endeavor requires interaction with people.

Rules also serve as guidance for individuals that must work together. I don't think you can have an orderly progression towards success without rules.

Yes! Rules keep things orderly. Otherwise there is only chaos.

Thanks for the opportunity to reply to your thoughts in this post. Please keep it coming!
