Amending the soil in the backyard geodesic dome greenhouse
Hello @dtube and Steem blockchain!!! This is our second @dtube video!!! Today...we are out in our food forest...preparing our geodesic dome greenhouse for Fall and Winter. One of the ways..we do this...is we pull out older summer plants...then top coat the old soil...with fresh soil. Then...we amend...by adding certain amendments..we have come to love over the years. In this video, we show...azomite rock dust, alfalfa meal...and sea salts. We will come in later after this video...and top coat with our own worm castings as well. Our last step..is we top coat the soil with straw. We just may sprinkle some white dutch clover seed down before we drop the straw. The existing worms...in the soil...just cruise up and munch the straw..and other goodies...creating a soil..much more alive...than we could ever create. ;)

It will be more amazing if only we could afford a greenhouse cover and a swamp cooler. However, the mullberry tree the neighbour has will start producing massive amounts of pollen anyday now, so a new cover will probably happen sooner than later. 😜 God willing we will see a much better year in our 3rd year next year. Building soil is fun but takes lots of pateince. Thanks for your amazing support as always!
