An Amazing Appearance

This appeared out of nowhere!

Sitting in the garden with a cup of tea on Thursday at Lourensford, I saw some tiny unusual movement above a tree in the distance.
This didn't look like a bird or a plane and so I grabbed the camera to set the zoom.
Of course this was the morning of the later stroke attack, but thankfully I took enough photos there for the next couple of days.
Let me show you!

This is what I saw, circled in yellow!

Ah! A guy in a parachute dropping down!

Wouldn't want him to land on top any of this!

I started getting better shots on the zoom.

Not a parachute, but a paraglider!

Another one! There were two of them!

Gliding graciously on the wind streams!

This was so amazing to see!

Now I know that many would ask what is paragliding and I found some history for those to read here.
In fact the army started it by towing a guy with an open parachute behind a truck, to rise up, in order to train them how to land with a parachute.

Check this out;
"The solution came with the invention of the ram-air parachute. Also known as the parafoil, it changed everything. Developed by Domina Jalbert in 1964, the ram-air parachute altered the shape of the chute from round to rectangular. The parachute -- called a wing or sail -- was broken up into cells. As the sail caught the wind, air would "ram" into these cells, filling up or inflating the sail. The shape allowed the wing to glide or float rather than immediately descend, as a traditional parachute would.
In 1978, three friends in Mieussy, France used their modified parachutes to jump off a mountainside and glide to the ground, the first time it had been done. This is considered the beginning of modern paragliding.
Paragliding equipment has evolved, with more complicated suspension and steering systems. Nevertheless, they're all based on Jalbert's original design. Extremely popular in Europe, paragliding is still a micro-sport in the United States, with around 5,000 or so participants [source: Becher]. However, it's climbing quickly in popularity."

That was a nice surprise for you.

Thank you dear friend.
It was indeed totally unexpected.
But luckily I had the camera nearby.
Blessings!

great catch, looks like so far away

Hopefully the stroke was really mild, but a stroke is serious, so please don’t ignore it and take better care of your self. We need your beautiful posts and photography. Much love going your way from my family to yours. 🥰

It only damaged the right hand muscles in my body my friend and thankfully no damage to the brain. I had an op in November last year and they placed a stent into the main Carotid artery that feeds my brain on the right hand side, as it was 95% blocked by plaque.
Now the trouble is coming from the left hand side, but I am seeing a specialist next week.
Blessings and best wishes to you and your family.
Hope you all have a good Sunday.

Wow!
That's not exactly something you would expect to se in the morning while sipping your coffe ☕😉
That is such a cool pictures and beautiful ones.
I am afraid of heights so I would never dare to fly like that.... But it has to be such a beautiful wiew from up there.
Really cool to se my friend, thank you for sharing this, made me smile and gorgeous sky 😊

Have a wonderful Saturday. Much love 🤗🌻🌹

Thank you my friend and so glad you liked the post.
Too bad about your fear of heights.
In the army I volunteered as a pilot, passed the medicals and was almost accepted, but had to go for an eye test. I failed the test as they found that I am color blind.
Always wanted to fly and maybe I will have a look at this paragliding thing.

May your Saturday also be great and thank you for the kind visit!
Much love also!
Blessings!

Wow, insane zoom:) I am very much afraid of heights so i dont think i will ever try this sport, but is nice seeing other brave people, lol.

Hahaha, It's a new sport that I would have loved to try 20 years ago my friend.
Too old now and cannot run anymore.
Blessings for this Sunday!

Really? I cannot even imagine it, lol. Have an easy and relaxing Sunday too😊
