Feedback Chain | What's Your Circulatory Map?

Draft of a workshop poster for an exhibition with urbz.

We live in a world where distances are diminishing. It is not uncommon for a person to be born in one place, grow up in another, move to a new place to study, work and continue to keep the links between all these different places.

Especially on a platform like this one, there are so many of us from different parts of the world, each of us only a few clicks away from one another. Our paths are already interlinked. The interaction that the Feedback Chain could offer is a perfect experiment to visualise all our criss-crossing trajectories.

Here's how this works.

Tell me in the comments section about your personal trajectory. What are the different places that have been a part of your life?

Just the names. It can be as close as two cities that you travel between or as far as the poles of the earth.

Here are mine.

Chennai > Tours > Chennai> Bombay> Geneva > Bombay > Seoul > Chennai > Seoul

I'm going to use all the comments from this post to add more lines to that map. It all depends on the comments so hit that button below and tell me what are the places in your life!

A feedback loop! :D

Hahaa this is perfect for circulatory lives. Just shows how we're all constantly moving inbetween the different places we call home. Thanks for participating @voronoi!

Brooklyn>Cadiz>Queens>Cleveland>Las Vegas>Atlanta>New York. As with @raj808, I've resided in essentially the same geographic area my whole life. But I have traveled and have included those places in my "map" that were significant. This is an intriguing initiative!

Doesn't matter if you've always lived in the same geographic area! It's still nice to hear about the places that have made you. Thanks for dropping by and telling me about yours, @agmoore!

I lived and worked in the Chicago area, Paris France, French Reunion Island, and India. Had one mural job in Casablanca.

I can't wait to meet you in person someday, @kathleenscarboro! We see a little bit of your India inspired artwork here. But I'm sure that all the other places have also inspired other kinds of work and I'd be super excited to find out. In any case, it's wonderful to put your circulatory story on the map. Thanks for participating!

Yes, Manouche, it would be nice to meet one of these days. Any plans for coming to France? I am particularly interested in cities in part because I worked in public art for 40 years in the U.S. So I worked with the city councilmen and women to make decisions about where our art work would be located, and what form it would take. We even managed to vote a tax for art by the city, which financed our projects for years.

Oooh, neat idea. I'm in:

Dallas>NYC>Dallas>Austin>Dallas>Wilmington, NC>Dallas

Yaas! Putting that down on the map right away!

Kuala Lumpur>Dubai>Manchester>Scotland>Manchester>Dubai>Kuala Lumpur.

That route have been the usual travel ive been between 2011-2016 at least twice a year cuz of studying abroad! :)

That sounds like quite the trajectory! There must be many stories you have from all this back and forth between these different contexts!

San Cristobal > Caracas > Santiago de Chile > Caracas...

Oh yay! Thanks for putting a little bit of South America on the map, @joedukeg.

Saint-Etienne (France) -> Paris -> Montreal, just cross the Atlantic ocean...

Thanks for playing @heroldius! Haha, that's quite a jump there. Going to add this french connection on the map and post it sometime next week!

I have lived in the same place all of my life, hopefully soon to change. When I was a child I often stayed with a close friend and his family in another city and I did travel a bit in my adult life so I am going to include some of those places that really had an impact on me so that it isn't just the name of two places ;-)

Liverpool > Lancaster > (travel) > Thailand > Liverpool > Malta> Liverpool > Ibiza > Liverpool > Egypt > Liverpool > Mexico (Yucatan) > Liverpool

Where are you (hopefully) off to soon?

The point is to map mobility and the places that you have a connection with so I'm glad you listed them out, @raj808!

I hoped to travel the world as a digital nomad by Winter this year but my progress on steemit and market down turn as well as other factors have meant I have had to postpone this dream until next year at some point. I'm actually writing a post explaining about this, and also (alternative) day-trip travel destinations in my home city right now :-) The next place I will be going is on a family trip to Portugal in October then hopefully Krakow in November for steemfest if everything goes to plan :-)

Boston>Cape Cod>London>Kent

You can just set that into a loop and it's a continual circulatory system of mine :)

It's amazing how the world registers so many loops of cross-continental exchanges. Thanks for participating, @donnadavisart!
