Mama I'm Fine

Having chosen to leave a steady (low paying) job and relying solely on the cryptocurrencies makes my parents concerned about my wellbeing, even though I have been doing this for a while now.

Mom worries about me, a lot. She asks how I’m doing financially because she hears cryptos are down. I keep telling her that I’m doing much better than I would in the kitchen. It’s a volatile market but I got the balls to survive the rollercoaster.

Mom is the one who listens to radio and reads the newspapers, so she is bombarded with alternative facts about cryptocurrencies. The mass media likes to paint it out like everyone in crypto is a criminal and it’s all just drug money and everyone innocent will get scammed.

Well I don’t actually care if/when there is money laundering and all that, I really don’t. There are just as many crooks in the traditional banking system. So let’s just get over that part and concentrate on what matters.

I need to keep saying to my mom that I’m not one of those idiots who takes out a loan and puts her faith in a random shitcoin. And I have told her numerous of times that I have taken out a lot more than I have put in. Sure, my time is also valuable, but it’s harder to measure. But every day I earn a little more cryptos, depending on the markets and how hard I work.

Daddy I’m okay

Dad reads the news too, but he is more critical about the information given in the media and he questions it a lot more than mom does. He has been fighting agains propaganda and lies in his own line of work, so he knows that you don’t just believe everything you read on the goverment owned newspaper.

Dad is somewhat curious about the freedom cryptocurrencies provide, and he sees that I’m more happy because I don’t have to comform to the restarains a normal workplace holds. I think me and dad are very similar in a way that we like to work alone and know that if you want something done right, you need to do it yourself. We also don’t like to compromise when we are passionate about something and know what we want to do.

I never tell my parents exact numbers, but when everything was a little higher, I said that I had almost a years wages worth of money in crypto. Which might sounds like a lot, but I was doing a minimun wage job. It might also sound scary, being dependant on crypto, but I always compare this situation to my previous life, and this is better. Even when we are in a bear market, I have more freedom than ever before. I might not be making much on a daily basis right now, but I have my ass covered (only figuratively ofc) and I’ll be fine for a while longer.

The bottom line: cryptocurrencies have improved my quality of life immensely.

Simple as that.

Getting paid (even partly) in crypto is a big gamble right now, but one that should pay off in the mid to long term, as long as your hands are strong and your willing to ride out bear-markets.

I've seen it before, and i've no doubt i'll see it again. Accumulation now is a great strategy for the brave (and/or foolish!)

If you're interested in earning a bit more crypto (ETH or STEEM - your choice) then ping me an email - [email protected] - i'm looking for a couple of Steemit influencers who actually produce decent, insightful content to help get a project off the ground...

Of course it's a gamble, but so is life! And this is a lot less risky than being in a job that makes me want to either kill myself or everyone around me :)

Decent and insightful, this is a first for me! 😝😂

I love that you live of crypto! You are the frontier!
Thinking about how to implement crypto in to my business. (: Might take a while tough. Seeing as I sell stuff to the masses witch much like your mum listens to the media.

Haha, it does sound cool doesn't it! And what is it that you sell?

You are only as cool as you think you are. ;)
Foodstuff mostly. We are adding crypto as a payment option a.s.a.p. anyway. If people have the option, they might start using it. (:

Good reading. Thanks for being a completely solid rock to lean on!
runs to his office and starts producing his next post

I wonder what I could inspire you to do 😏😈

Better not push the limits :D

The mass media likes to paint it out like everyone in crypto is a criminal and it’s all just drug money and everyone innocent will get scammed.

Isn't normal money also used for laundering, drugs, scams,etc...? I think people don't realize this...

and puts her faith in a random shitcoin

You telling me you didn't buy bitconnect? xD People go after fast money instead of slow steady money, people go after random hobos on youtube that promise 100% returns... People are dumb, the world is full of morons, and the smart people that actually do research into something, spend hours upon hours learning and reading about a project are put in the same sack as those dumb people...

Haha, definitely did not get into that, but I do have Dogecoin, for fun! And I have actually made a profit on that, which is hilarious!

DogeCoin is the best coin! I actually saw a Jesus Coin yesterday that did 300% during the bear market! These meme coins are getting out of hand! I went and looked at their website, it seems Jesus Coin's CEO is Jesus Christ himself... guess nothing can go wrong there because we are under the wing of JC himself :P

I have around 5 cryptos that i've made hours on top of hours of research! I'm not shaken by this bear market because I did my own research, but i get a similiar problem to the one you get... everytime the market goes down I hear my parents saying "You are going to lose it all, you should jump ship while you still can"... it's funny that they don't say anything when the market goes up...

There are crooks and scammers in all walks of life and in all professions, the trick is to find your way amongst the debris and build something worthwhile. You're doing a fine job so far eve

Lol I can relate to that, when I quit my job at one of the countries biggest online travel agents and told them I have an idea im going to use this website thingy to make money and that's what makes me happy they flipped out. 2 years later nothings changed, they still flipping out and I still haven't starved to death.

As for cryptos ive lost so much yet i keep buying more lol sucker for punishment i suppose. Hopefully I can join the crypto only bread winner club soon, do we get jackets made?

My old boss keeps asking if I have run out of money yet and want to come back 😂

Why you loosing on crypto? It's not that hard!

LOL that's classic, does your boss follow your posts too? Well South African Rands are pretty shit to invest with and our crypto to cash services here aren't great either. also I've been hacked once and I invested in some alts that will hopefully moon in the coming years. I should have just stuck to BTC and ETH

Moms – they just keep worrying. Work too much – worry. Work too little – worry. Travel – worry. Live a life without a restricting job that causes depression and anxiety – worry. Ok c'moooooon, what can fill the black hole of worry inside of you!?

The only time they don't worry is if you have a steady job that is killing you inside 😂😅

Muahahahahaaaa – exactly!!!

I find it very amazing that there is so much crypto talk on the radio/tv over there that keeps your mom up to date...
We, down here have no idea what's going on... :)

Well it's not that much, but during all time highs, and then the new lows, there was quite a lot. And of course mom picks up on every tiny article made about crypto because she wants to know what is going on in my life. Funniest was when she heard about some scam and asked if I had invested. Not me, or anyone I know here had even heard of that shitcoin they were talking about.

Smart move, with that amount of STEEM POWER, you will be very rich in 1-2 years!!

The arguments for a $10 - $100 STEEM price in 2019 - 2021.

Lol.. That's true.. Parents always wanna know, I could relate cos my parents ask me same questions.. Cute set of teeth Tho.. 😂
