THE DIGITAL SHARECROPPERS - MY OWN CONTENT

in #life6 years ago (edited)

It's time for me to take a little more control of my content.

Prior to steemit, I never really did anything online. The opportunity that steemit presented was too incredible for me to pass up, though, so into the web I jumped. Interestingly enough, by creating a fusion of crypto with social media, steemit did a lot of the normal "up front" work for us.

Traditionally, a person would have to build up a blog first and get a lot of followers prior to being able to get a tangible financial ROI, and that was usually through advertisements, or so I'm told. With steemit, things were different. Over the past almost two years (my two year anniversary is tomorrow) I've poured a lot of content into this platform, and it has been a huge blessing. Unfortunately, I haven't always done things the best way possible...

BRINGING IT BACK

Prior to steemit, I never even had a YouTube account. The only reason I got one was to share videos on steemit. Unfortunately, my internet is rarely over 3G and a lot of things (like uploading a photo) can take several minutes or even hours to accomplish. Because of some technical issues, I began uploading a lot of my YouTube videos to someone else's channel, and never bothered to put them on my own. Not any more though!

When I uploaded that video on how to accurately identify a Copperhead snake onto someone else's channel, I had no idea that it would hit over 78K views in just over a year. Lesson learned, I now downloaded it and have published it on my channel now.

This is another one, that hit over 5.6K views. Due to not being able to trust the person who's YouTube Channel I had uploaded this videos to, and because I no longer have the originals, I'm in the process of downloading as many as I can right now and getting them onto my own channel.

If you subscribe to my YouTube channel already, you'll see a large amount of these being uploaded right now. Once I get them all up, I'll create some playlists to better organize them. If you don't already subscribe to my YouTube channel, feel free to start. I think this link should take you there: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8GJap7-XxIrSQqByPQG0SQ

I'll be sharing new uploads on steemit as well, but if you want to check out some of my older videos or the playlists, you'll have to check them out over there. I'm just trying to less of a digital sharecropper and at least keep my stuff on pages or channels that are actually mine these days. It may not be perfect to have all of my stuff on YouTube & Steemit, but at least steemit is amazing and I'm close to monetizing my YouTube Channel.

Until next time…

Glad to see you moving things under your control, let me know if you need an experienced Moderator for your YT channel and a chatroom Mod to keep things Family Friendly if you decide to go "live" and amp up your game with folks ;-)

You might want to ask a few of the others I do and have Moderated for, you might know them as @mericanhomestead, @daddykirbs...

You would be surprised just how many folks would really enjoy having you readily available to answer questions in real time.

And I am sure others who have seen me Mod a room can also chime in!

Interesting, I may have to give taht a go! Thanks for the advice, as I really have no clue about Youtube.

Do a thread on it and ask how many would love to do this!

Disregard PooTube. Post your videos on DTube or Dlive

I will subscribe to your YouTube channel and check its contents..
Upvoted an followed..
I am new here so would really appreciate if you check my posts and provide your opinions on it..
Have a great day...

Thanks, I'll take a peek at what you're up to.

Thanks..I will look forward to your feedback..

Seems like you are off to a good start, just be yourself and be honest!

Thank you for your encouraging words...means a lot :)

I've always thought of uploading my videos on an existing channel that's earning high.
But what if they don't even pay anything after the whole views...
The best form is developing your own channel or blogs, you know you can only trust yourself!

Steemit has given us the opportunity to do it our own way!
Good one you got there. 👍👍👍

Yeah, I love the steemit opportunity! Glad that we found out about it!

Wish your channel a big success @papa-pepper .
Say hi to @mama-pepper and @grandpa-pepper 🙌🙌😌

Great success ahead.

Sharecropper, lol that's a wonderful analogy.  Congrats on the anniversary, you are admired and much appreciated around here.

I was going to try and be helpful and give you the code to add a subscribe button to your posts, but steemit does not allow scripts in comments, you can try it on a post to see if it works.

Also be sure to add tags(around 10 of them), and cards to your video's. Captions may help with youtube searches as well.

You are getting close to the monitize point.... a couple hundred to go.

Here's the code for it just in case you need it somewhere else or want to try it on one of your posts, that should be your channel ID.

<script src="https://apis.google.com/js/plusone.js"></script> <div class="g-ytsubscribe" data-channel="UC8GJap7-XxIrSQqByPQG0SQ"> </div>

Wow man! Thanks so much! Steemit I've figured out a little bit, but YT is a foreign place to me. Thanks!

I am by no means an expert, I've just been researching to see if I can give our church account a boost. I've come to the conclusion I have a long way to go when it comes to content creation, but technical stuff I'm pretty good with.

Congratz on your 2 year anniversary, which may already be today, here in Australia.
Have you considered uploading vids to @dtube as well? DTube upvote on videos loaded, and with 2,000,000SP, it's always nice when you get a DTube upvote :)
Peace.

Congratulations sir on your achievement!!!

Wow, two years on steemit, that's cool, "CONGRATULATIONS!" in advance @papa-pepper. :D You were one of the first fabulous people I met and spoke with here on steemit, you gave me wonderful tips, and sent me a present to welcome me, it made me feel so good, thank you so much. :D You inspired me to do a post a day, and then when I met @paradise-found he was so wonderful as well that he inspired me to start making a second post each day. :D I've met a lot of people that have made me feel loved, appreciated, missed when I'm out of touch, and inspired. I'm grateful that my husband got me to come to steemit, my life has improved so much, especially my appreciation for all the blessings in my life. :D
God bless you and the whole pepper clan. :D Have an awesome day my fabulous friend! :D
