Eeewww... Pumpkins get a little ripe, when they start rotting! Great photos of them, though. That one on the top step looks a little like a sad birthday balloon a few days after the event has passed :-)
Hopefully Bucky gets a few bites of pumpkin in, before they're too far gone.

I saw a video today some folks had taken. Someone in Alaska had three jack-o-lanterns around their mailbox post at the road and a HUGE moose was standing there eating one of them. I never really thought about the critters that might like them if they were placed in an available place.
The deer will most likely find these soon and they will vanish quickly. Any limp and wilted produce gets shared the same way!

Seriously though, that b&w shot with the splash of pumpkin is wicked cool! And your pie looks delish! Mine had an appearance from @juliank - I'd completely forgotten about him, since it's been so long. It will definitely be interesting to see how our pie ingredients change over the next couple years!
My daughter had to use the snow shovel to scoop up the pumpkins!

Melinda, i am very frustrated to read this story :/
at least I have less -- only one (5kg) pumpkin sitting on my window, that came from the Auchan mall. I am very big fan of them, but they dont grow at my location very well, so we dont have a pumpkin plantations like you have. You are still lucky that you watched it during the whole period while they were maturing -- I feel a little envy! :=)
btw, why you mentioned 'cans' -- dont the local stores have them at the counters un-canned?.. we have a lot... and basically they are still be selling in December, and probably in January, as well...
After Halloween pumpkins tend to disappear from the grocery stores here. I always stock up in October if I want some to use later. I was not prepared for the freezing weather we had.
