Don’t know what to do with the pigeon’s eggs, so I’d better go shopping , ปวดหัว เจอไข่นกพิราบ เราไปช็อปปิ้งเลย

I have been wondering why a pigeon has been coming to my pot plants every morning! Whenever I water the plants, this pigeon keeps running out from underneath the plants. Today I found two pigeon eggs among the pot plants.

I feel sorry for the bird as I water the plants every other day which means the bird and eggs would be wet. Now I have a moral problem and I don’t know what to do with these two eggs. So, I decide to go shopping in the afternoon at Robinson shopping mall. My comfort zone is the food court where I would see friendly faces and smell good food.

Lots of people come here for relaxation and meeting up with friends. Some students come here to take private lessons in English, maths and science subjects. These private teachers don’t have to pay for the tuition space. The atmosphere here is very warm and friendly. We couldn’t find this generosity in other posh shopping mall, there is even a notice telling people that the seats are reserved for customers only!

People could come here to enjoy free electricity for charging their mobile phones and the cool air-conditioning the whole day! I often see elderly Chinese men here for their daily afternoon tea and chitchat. Sometimes I would see insurance brokers having meetings with their clients here. This food court is like a communual square in a village. These people who frequent the place seem to know each other.

There are less than ten fast food stalls here, but these are the ones that survived the last economic upheavals over ten years ago! They are the main stay for the well being of hungry customers for years. Many people come here out of old habit and for the comforting feeling of this food court. I have never felt so welcome and easy in any food court before. The people here are very down to earth and from the middle to lower middle class who do not feel the need to dress up before coming here. The feeling is very much like sitting in one’s own sitting room. The food is above average in terms of quality and quantity. I totally forget about the problem of the pigeon’s eggs; I still don’t know what to do!

วันนี้เราพึ่งเจอไข่นกพิราบสองใบ ท่ามกลางกระถางต้นไม้ที่ระเบียง มิน่าละเราจึงเห็นนกพิราบวิ่งออกมาทุกครั้งที่เรารดนํ้าต้นไม้ เราปวดหัวทำอะไรไม่ถูก ตอนนี้ก็เป็นเทศกาลกินเจด้วย เราจึงหนีไปช็อปปิ้งที่ห้างโรบินสันดีกว่า ที่นี่เราสามารถเดินเล่นนั่งเล่นอย่างสบายใจ โดยเฉพาะที่สวนอาหาร เพราะมีบรรยากาศอบอุ่นเป็นกันเอง แถมร้านอาหารที่นี่ก็อร่อยและราคาไม่แพงด้วย

ที่นี่จะมีนักเรียนมานัดพบกัน และมาเรียนพิเศษกับคุณครูในตอนเย็นประจำ เราก็แอบดูเขาเรียนวิชาภาษาอังกฤษ เลขคณิตและวิทยาศาสตร์กัน คนสอนไม่ต้องไปเช่าสถานที่สอนพิเศษ ประหยัดค่าใช้จ่ายทำให้ค่าสอนไม่แพง และตอนเย็นจะมีกลุ่มผู้สูงอายุชาวจีนมานั่งดื่มน้ำชาและเสวนากัน ส่วนคนที่มาคนเดียวก็มักจะมานั่งเล่นมือถือและชาร์จไฟฟ้าฟรี และนั่งเล่นในบรรยากาศเย็นสบายตลอดวัน

อาหารจานด่วนที่นี่ก็มีรสชาดดีและให้ปริมาณพอดี ราคาก็ไม่แพง คนที่ทำอาหารอยู่มาเป็นหลายปีจึงคุ้นเคยกับลูกค้าประจำ คนที่มาที่นี่ส่วนใหญ่จะเป็นขาประจำ เพราะที่นี่ให้ความเป็นกันเอง พนักงานก็ไม่หยิ่ง ลูกค้าและคนที่มาเดินเล่นไม่จำเป็นต้องแต่งตัวโก้เก๋ ตั้งแต่ไปมาหลายแห่งก็มีที่นี่ที่เดียว ที่ไม่ดูถูกคนและ พนักงานพูดจาดีกับทุกคน สวนอาหารที่นี่เป็นเหมือนลานที่อยู่กลางหมู่บ้าน ที่ใครจะมานั่งเล่น มาอ่านหนังสือ และมานั่งทำงานได้อย่างสบายใจ เราก็หวังว่าที่นี่จะเป็นเช่นนี้ต่อไปนานๆ เราลืมเรื่องไข่นกพิราบไปเลย ไม่รู้ว่าจะทำอย่างไรดี
