We, transpiring

original poetry

outer_space_by_symmetrybox-d6j5x72.jpg

The spires and rudiments that build themselves
From a mind into a mind self-cognizing.

The chance flicker during daydream
That sets bodies as trophies on a mantelpiece.

Eye into an eye, drowning in repetitive impulse
That speaks to itself, writing variations on a theme.

Soul out of soul that searches itself
In curvaceous galaxies.

Mouth that eats not,
Hands peeling back to bone.

Skin under skin that shields treasure,
Hidden in wait in a grave of its own fashioning.

Waves of moving sand flung
In a toss that lasts one billion crore years

Each particle a tiny heart:

Each heart, a tiny world.

The filaments of life that spiral themselves
Like singing nebula through the aetheric ocean.

Notes

One of the great beauties of poetry is its ability to utilize all of the recognized grammatical and structural conventions of the formal written language, plus a potentially infinite amount of novel combinations which would be considered "incorrect" in prose. A common poetic practice is using sentence fragments, as seen in this poem. Many of the couplets are only subjects without predicate. Yet there is still movement, action—substance becoming self-aware.

I am something
happening to the Universe.
My body: a verb.

Beyond the fluctuating haze and clarity of consciousness that parade through our lives in endless procession, may we recall that we are identical with all that we perceive. That there is no getting out of any of this, without going into it with great aplomb. And that is something of a task never finished.

Wholeness,
@d-pend

Writer who has changed my life,
Your voice I have never heard,
Your face is unknown,
... Our hands have not narrowed
... In the cordial greeting of two friends.
I do not know where you live, nor how old you are,
I only know that your words I have read
And with them daily you come
To fill the void of my broken heart
... For so many years that you already have.
Today I leave this phrase tender,
for the teachings you have left in my life.
@d-pend

Wow this is amazing, I mean your use of refrains in the verse.

Each particle a tiny heart:
Each heart, a tiny world.

This lines are intriguing I mean it gives a whole lot of thrilling poetic effect like an effort to really drive home the use of metaphor here.

As usual your use of words are amazing and this one is sharp and witty, there seem to be no metric arrangement or rhymes but rhythmically you nailed this to a standstill. It's beautiful

I miss you Dsound tracks though, It would be Heavenly to listen to this one on a sound

The best of the best you are

I never get tired of these, though I don't have much else substantive to add! Always love the image selection.

Dear Daniel, with the great tragedy (& criminal waste of potential) that happened, yesterday, near my apartment —FL high school shooting— it’s good to return to poetry and meditate upon our connectedness to one another, our world and Existence.

If we lived with this expanded consciousness, I am sure we would not permit ourselves such murderous folly.

Thank you, for reminding us of our larger allegiances 🙏🏼

I have said it infinite times that i am always a huge fan of your poetry and the selection of the wording you use in your couplets My Friend ♡

I just love these wonderful lines Wow!

Skin under skin that shields treasure,
Hidden in wait in a grave of its own fashioning.

Such a composed way to deliver a very deep message to your readers, massive respect my spirtual brother @d-pend :-) :-)

You compose words with a great deal of intelligence and complexity. There are many, many layers to this piece and they seem to unfold and build on each other. Bravo.

Soul out of soul that searches itself
In curvaceous galaxies.

Great line that works in poetry but not prose. To me poetry is a song that only the writer can really hear. I like to write poems when I feel something or have some quiet time but your poems come everyday.

I am glad that we are connected.

I couldn't easily catch what a crore year refers to.

One more comment. I got a chance to listen to "CODENAME". It rocks in a 90s industrial fashion... yet true to the lyrics.

To me poetry is a song that only the writer can really hear.

And even then, only ever so softly.

A crore is ten million, usually used with Indian rupees (equivalent to one hundred lakh which are one hundred thousand each.) So a billion crore would be ten quadrillion.

Thanks for checking out the recording. I thought it was really interesting how that one turned out. Rusty and I pretty much give each other full creative reign over our part of the collab, so we end up with some dynamic results :-)

Have a great day @mineopoly

The images really set a good feel for the prose.

Each heart, a tiny world.

I lingered longest on the concept of a body being a verb. Heavy.

poetry always goes outside the borders and laws.
when we can't express feelings in prose - poetry can help.
and there is no matter if all grammatical and lexical rules are followed in it, poetry doesn't require any of them, but it is still very understandable because its perception happens from heart to heart.

You're very productive now, publish new poems very often, cosmic channel works fine for you)
I wonder how many "kids" (poems) do you already have?
don't you think of publishing it in a printed book?
though blockchain is a specific book too-)

That's a very soulful one. There are so many hidden treasures. I love Each particle a tiny heart; and each Heart a tiny world; my way of interpretation is That we all have a world of our own stored within us and then we all merge together in this cosmos and create a grand illusion.
