Alienated
This poem first appeared on Sumayyah Said So.
bleeding into your hands and you didn’t feel it
washing over you
coating everything
when i lay down at your feet and prayed
begging and beseeching
to be freed
tears don’t creep any longer down my face
leaving grooves in my skin
cold is my heart
it has ceased beating for your love
don’t you sense it?
what words are left for me to say in anger?
in sadness
and regretting?
white flag has been waved over my frozen
locked in place remains
no more seek
no more find
chips of memory left behind
