The road to Steemfest week 1 - Krakow are you ready?
@anomadsoul, thank you for launching this little freewrite project so that we can get to know each-other better! It would surely be a BLAST to meet you in person in Poland! Hope you won't freeze your ass off in Russia until then LOL stay warm!
When the venue was announced I was like ahhhhh dayum it's so f$%&/ far away! I secretly hoped it would be in the US or in Latin America. Yes, yes I did play with the fantasy that it could possibly be in Panama. After all there are several Steemians here, including one famous whale so why not???
But then the news came....KRAKOW....and I was thinking F:U:C:K:....if I hadn't traveled so much already this year it could be a possibility, but now I know it's impossible for me financially to fly to Europe again...until my better half mentioned having miles we could use. Then all of a sudden, it seemed like it might actually happen for us!
I still have to check the details, where to fly into (probably not Poland, some other hub first and from there with a cheap airline to Poland. But is it possible? Yes, I guess it is! How exciting!!!!
Ok so there's a whole list of steemians I really want to meet in person. Many from my vegan discord, and especially the ones I have contact with regularly, such as @plantstoplank, @vegan.ninja, @nathankaye, @teamsteem, @yidneth, @thekitchenfairy, @mermaid, @danaedwards and several others. I don't even know if they will go, but it would be nice to meet them.
Then there's my BJJ crew on Steemit I would love to meet and possibly train with, mainly @matkodurko, @jiujitsu @steemitbjj, @maneki-neko, @ganjafarmer , @rama, @zekepickleman and more.
And last but not least, all the people from my @promo-mentors crew, even though I know one person that will probably never reveal his identity and meet in person =)
So what's next? Checking flights . I hate that part, it stresses me out and I'm the unluckiest person on earth when it comes to flying. There's always something that happens on my flights. Flat tires, other technical issues, storms, delays, overbooking, you name it! At least I never had a crash (knocking on wood as we speak), but lets not tempt the devil.
If we can use our miles, all I have to say is Krakow you better be ready for @el-cr and myself!

I hope it will work for you to book the tickets with miles! It's so close to my hometown but I'm still not sure if I'll go. Maybe next year when I'll be a bit more established on the platform ☺
oh @delishtreats you have to go!!! =) But yeah I get the expenses are a LOT! Right now I'm just thinking about the flight, but I haven't even thought about lodging yet. Urgh I hope Steem goes up!!!!
It's still a few months to go so I have some time to think about it 😊 at the end of the day I wouldn't even need a flight ticket if I would go home for a few weeks 😁 I hope that Steem goes up too!
I am myself giving it a try, otherwise I do not think I could afford. I kind of feel evennif inexpectedly it could happen. And certainly would love to meet you too. So honoured of the mention.
Btw my last is a bit of a rant about demonizing wild animals to justify hunting. Would love your feedback, no need to upvote but I think you can read between its lines.

Every Sunday is the Portland area meet-up starts at 8pm... Se Salmon Street and waterfront!
My Czech hometown (where I am currently based) is just some 150 km from Krakow and if I don´t escape the annoying Central European fall/winter, I will probably go to Steemfest too. Would be awesome to meet you and your hubby Eve :)

oohhh yes it would be so great to meet you guys! Especially since it's so close to you, but I would understand if you'd try and escape the winter. I will need to prepare for the cold...bbbrrrr

Hey @evecab so cool to see your going to steemfest! I shall also be there, unless there is a major set back in my plans. We'll so have to meet to swap some vegan recipes. I'm not full vegan as you know but I have a few I could share :-)

This is awesome! And the miles usage fits perfectly to the situation! Better start searching for flights in Skyscanner, I would recommend flying to London and then to Germany, its my usual route to Europe (because of the cheapness).

I don't think it is in the cards this year to do any big travel, though my boyfriend @dksart is from Poland so it would be a fun way to incorporate getting to see where he is from. ;)
There are still lots of "ifs" to consider, ahhah but of course I will report back if I do! would love to meet the 2 of you
