SAM Saturday challenge by @bluemoon is a wonderful way for all of us to get to know a little more about each other. #SAM-Saturday rules

My SAM post for this week is various photos from historical sites, exhibits, and demonstrations. I always enjoy learning about history, and museums and monuments provide so much information and also provide some great photo opportunities! I get to combine two of my favorite things!

I have been to many marvelous museums all around the World and across the United States. The Kröller-Müller Museum, a National Art Museum in Otterlo, Netherlands and The Catherine Palace south of Saint Petersburg, Russia are two of my favorites. Do you have a favorite museum?

How amazing pictures! 😍 I am sure that you learned a lot in this places

Thanks! There are so many wonderful places to visit when you are able to travel!

I like museums but I cannot name favourite one, because they are so different and each one is interesting.

They do look impressive!

I will go read it now....

Nelson art gallery just off the plaza in Kansas City Missouri would be my favorite. School trips every year.

Love

If you get a chance go to the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville Arkansas. It is free and it is stunning. They have an amazing collection. All the things lots of money can buy.

Ooh, I like the tall ship. Those old seweing machines held up very well. There was a foot-powered one in a hostel I stayed in once that they still used to repair clothes for guests.

I always thought it would be fun to crash the Duluth Tall Ship festival with a pirate ship, cannons blazing.

That photo was taken at a Tall Ships gathering in Port Washington.,Wisconsin on Lake Michigan. The Bounty was a reconstruction of the original 1787 sailing ship HMS Bounty. Built in 1960, she sank off the coast of North Carolina during Hurricane Sandy on 29 October 2012, not long after I took that photo. Two people drowned, including the Captain. The Bounty was commissioned by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer for the 1962 film Mutiny on the Bounty and was used in Pirates of the Caribbean.

howdy there melinda010100! I don't have a favorite museum but we do have a nice little museum in one of our local towns and it's a cotton museum. How's it going today? very slow here with no one to talk to. I think people are discouraged by the announcements this week don't you? How's it going with you today?

I've had a slow day, too. I think you are right about people being discouraged. I hope we see something that gives all of us a boost soon! A cotton museum would be interesting for us northerners! I remember the first time I saw a field full of cotton in Southern Arkansas and I made Jim stop the car just so I could get out and touch it!

I love those kind of museums, we have a lot here that show the life in the mountains in previous centuries, or precise period of time with the tools of craftsmen or the tools of everyday life, machines, machinery from another time, the life of another era ...I love to visit these places when there is one ;-)

I always feel like I learn so much! Thanks for resteeming this!

How amazing post. I love the pictulure Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial and the Abraham Lincoln museum look so real..

I had been to Washington-DC several times but had never managed the walk to get to the Roosevelt Memorial until after I got my mobility scooter. Poor Jim, he had to walk the entire 13 miles that we did that day, and I just went zipping along on my scooter! That memorial was well worth a visit. Roosevelt was president during the Great Depression and my photo represents men standing in a bread line to get food during some dark days in this country.

The Lincoln Museum is one of my favorite places to go with the grandkids. I've been there a couple times and enjoyed every minute of it. There are lots of hands-on things to do.

The men in that photo are statues? They look so real. It's wonderful that you go to the museum with the kids and enjoy learning at the museum. These photos are really beautiful.

I always thought that I would be the kind of Grandma who would take the kids everywhere and show them all of the amazing things there are to see. I hate that I can't do that.

That first photo is one of several statues that are at the Roosevelt Memorial. They were all quite wonderful to see.

I think you do the best you can and that the kids are very happy to have you as a grandmother. I would be very happy to have a grandmother like you and just sitting in your living room would make me happy... I'm sure the kids think the same way I do. Sometimes you know not everything is as we would like... I always want to help to all for example but you can not ... Well, although when steem was at a high price I bought a lot of food and gave away ...

You are wonderfully generous to everyone. Yeah, life doesn't always give us what we want, but then it becomes our task to be able to make the best of it and keep smiling!

I try to give the best of me. This is how my mother taught me, this is Melinda despite the adversities we have to smile at life. I think you are an example of that because I feel that despite everything you are happy

We all do the best we can, don't we?
