Maximize Your Rewards With Some Steem-Engine Staking
While a big chunk of the blockchain has been concerned about Steem's price and our current rankings on CoinMarketCap.com, I've been infatuated with all the projects taking place on Steem-Engine....
(Can you say...Slightly obsessed...?)
Hey, I get it, we all believe Steem is undervalued and rightfully so. However I know there isn't much I can do about the price other that continuing to promote Steem everywhere I do as well as dollar cost average my investment into Steem Power.
So I choose to spend my time these days refreshing Steem-Engine to see if I have any new rewards from my staked investments on Steem-Engine.
O.K., some people may be VERY new to this aspect of the Steem blockchain...So this post is meant to help my fellow 'Noob' investors...
We all know the massive success of things like Palnet.io, Steemleo.com and Steemcoinpan. These are brand new communities using the SCOT initiative on Steem-Engine. In a nutshell, each of these communities have their own front end condenser that allows us to post community specific content and get rewarded in it's native token AS WELL as Steem.
Write a post about investing, do it on Steemleo! Talking Sports, rant about it on SportsTalkSocial.com. And we're just getting started...There are so many niche communities jumping on board it's hard to keep up...
Here's my solution to leverage Steem-Engine and the opportunities presented....
I know I'll spend the bulks of my time posting in either Steemleo and Palnet. Simple and straightforward, these communities speak to me and I enjoy hanging out in their Discords. I feel like I'm adding value with every post I create so I'm staking as much of these coins that I'm earning and being rewarded with daily.
But what about the communities I'm interested in, but not really posting content regularly....
Something like Splintertalk - Which is a fantastic community based on Splinterlands but I'm being honest...I haven't dove into the game deep enough to post regular content on their condenser.
Or even Sports Talk Social - I do consider myself a hard core sports fan, but only do one show a week when it comes to sports, and that's not even on my own account.
So how do we get REWARDED from these communities, without posting daily content?
Ahhhh my friend, it's the secret benefit to the Steem blockchain...Curation rewards through staking these tokens!
And remember, most of the SCOT projects are running 50/50 split, so it's a great time to simply...Curate the projects you like in the communities you may not be active in every day.
I recently purchased some SPT tokens and staked them right away...Because I knew I wasn't going to create SteemMonster / Splinterland content daily...But I do have people that I follow and support, and who I can upvote...
I did the same thing with Sports Talk Social and plan to get much more active in that community. However there is nothing stopping me from accumulating the SPORTS tokens, stake it, curate and take part in the discussions.
This is SUCH a huge win!
And for all you lurkers out there that may not feel comfortable posting content everyday, this is your chance to leverage Steem-Engine's awesome communities and contribute to each of them!
If Steem-Engine is a taste of things to come with SMT's...I guarantee we won't be worrying about Steem price much longer.
This is what makes Steem so special! It's not only the amazing communities being developed here everyday...It's the opportunities as well. Forming right before our eyes....

It's great...And now it's up to each community to continue to deliver the value!
I've been getting quite lost in the new communities and I've staked a few. My issue has been using too much of my voting power in the wrong places while trying to support my normal steemians. I did however find a place where I will post based on my interests everyday with @reggaesteem . But, It is such a niche community I don't have any idea for the future value of Jahm token. I love love @steem.leo so I can learn more about the ecosystem and investing and @sportstalksocial so I can talk shit, but the others I don't know if I should stake.

I'm thinking the same thing. This is killing my steemit voting power. I'm very committed to that and right now I seem to be voting mostly on @steem.leo posts because I like the content. But, my heart belongs to @reggaesteem because Im a lifelong Reggae fan

hi @jongolso. Staking is a simple way to mine, I saw that from doing time in steemit and even without resources, each centimo that received it would invest it again in steemit. But now we have this great opportunity in Pal and I think we should not underestimate it.

Hey @jongolson! I read this fantastic article and I just had to upvote. You are very knowledgable about the Steem-Engine Contract Tokens being issued so I would appreciate an answer at your earliest convenience.
My question is, can the SECT be created with 16 denominations from 1 - 100,000 for the STEEM blockchain? ...and can it also have cryptography that makes it a store value i.e. 1 token coin = 1 ounce .999 pure Silver certified weight and content by the U.S. Mint and 50 token coin = 1 ounce .999 pure Gold certified weight and content by the U.S. Mint?
I am talking to a group that would be interested in those particular features so it would have the store value encrypted of coded... They would also like to distribute based on the # of postings, the # of votes, and the sum total number of postings and votes into a token pool exclusively for the Tribes... Is that possible with STEEM-ENGINE?
pretty sure the tokens in steem engine have a max decimal of 8. but i could be mistaken.

Yes, that is correct but I am asking about the denominations, not decimals. I believe 8 decimals are called "Satoshi"... Thanks anyway.
I agree steem-engine changed everything investing in the good tokens is going to be a game changer for me at least. Staking them and being able to upvote good blog posts and make tokens is great.
It's been a blast. And I'm super excited to see what happens with SMT's now after this amazing experience...
Yup... More and more projects pop up (which is good)... And the best part is receiving the "airdrop"... Love airdrops...

For sure....Opportunity everywhere!
When the hype will be finish around tribes, most of them will have a slow trading volume with coins with low value. People always rush on Steem!
Potentially...I think a lot of the tribes that have zero long term game plan will fade away. But some will leverage their token and continue to deliver value. That's what will drive the price too...The majority may fade away, but the cream will rise to the top :)
So far I believe in Palnet and Steemleo.

How is the staking going so far? I just staked 5700 sports tokens today.
I wanna buy more and stake . What do you suggest? And does it reflect in my steem engine wallet if I gain anything from staking ? So far it's 5700 itself but I amn't worried about that. Just curious
