Dog walk diaries: early call up and easy

in #steem6 years ago (edited)

It was a 530 wake up this morning and I am not a morning person.

There is 982,903 Steem in the pool which is ~3% more than two nights ago and 25% more than usual. Vote values continue to climb. I wonder if the pool has ever made it over 1 million for the 7 day period?

The feeds still feels a bit slow which is strange considering people tend to worry about numbers so much. The pool is overflowing, the feed price is 81 cents, this is an opportunity and it hasn't been kept secret.

People always mention how lucky early adopters were because things were easier but at times like these we can witness that is not the case necessarily. Just like now, many didn't realise back at the start things were easier so unknowingly passed up the opportunity.

Easy is one of those relative terms that is dependent on knowledge, skill and experience. What is easy for one can be extremely difficult for another but no one finds everything easy. Some do seem to make a lot of things hard though.

For some, there is an obstacle for every opportunity, an excuse why they are able to take advantage of situations others have and then later complaints saying it wasn't fair. There are times this might be justified but many always have the excuses why they couldn't.

It is a difficult situation here because everything is more available to see, some of the feelings of unfair are able to be dismissed. In the real world there is a lot hidden meaning it is easy to say that a successful person must have done something underhanded to be so but here, is that the case?

Yes, there are a lot of less than community spirited actions by some but there are also many who have been successful on Steem through large amounts of consistent work. That work gets recognised and supported by some over time until it is easier to earn but, that doesn't make everything easy as new problems arise and with them, new opportunities.

The people who are the most successful in this world are those who are able to adapt with changing environments and I am not limiting this to financial success alone of course. There are opportunities everywhere as things change and while some stand still, others take a chance on them. There is risk in taking them, isn't there?

Some avoid moving because they have a fear of failure while others move despite that fear. I have never met anyone who has no fear of failing but I have met people who embrace the concept of failure, accept it and take a swing anyway.

This place is interesting because it gives all of us a chance to learn and do things we may likely have no access to otherwise and therefore access to a potential future we wouldn't have otherwise. It is an opportunity and we are currently all early adopters.

It may be difficult for some but try not to spend too much time worrying about others and instead find opportunities that are accessible with your knowledge, skills and experience. That is how you move easily but it still requires consistency over potentially long periods of time. It also leads onto a development of those three facets which opens up more difficult opportunities to take advantage of.

Playing it easy will only get so far but it is a good start.

I have been surprised at the slowness of the feed too. It's certainly the time to be taking advantage.

People will no doubt come back in a few weeks when the reward pool has equalised again and complain about missing out. Lol

No doubt. Some people spend their lives missing out but never stop to consider why.

If you always miss out, do you know you’re missing out?

Meta.

Not really I guess but it is also why so many people are victims of the world. Things happen to them but because they aren't paying attention to why they happen, they feel powerless.

LOL re-meta. Just came to mind as I saw the repetition. But I constantly see that around me where people just wouldn’t recognize an opportunity even not if it slapped them in the face.

The price feed focused shortsighted obsession is rather funny.

I don't mind them looking at the pretty magician's assistant.

Now none is this is actually new Tarazkp. Not early dog walks and certainly not the 'do not covet thy neighbour'.

You do make a very interesting point on opportunity. Since we have started there have been periods of plenty and followed by drought. Again we are in time of plenty and us early Steemians should avail ourselves of the opportunity.

Now I don't want to sound wildly optimistic here - but I have every reason to believe we are going to $US1,000 (today's purchasing power)a Steem token - over the next 15 years. You read that right T - 1,000 big ones.

Now it is too soon for me to post my reasons for this. But I will in time.

Let's just say Facebook is failing. Steem will soon develop encrypted private messaging and encryted personal dairies (think Kavanaugh) - and will continue to have all the decentralised, anti-government reg security features already in place.

Good times ahead. For those who seize the opportunity anyhow.

I agree with you and I don't think it will even take 15 years for it if things play out well. There are so many facets to this and if rather than competing the Steem community pushed further decentralization and expansion of platforms, it will pull users in at an increasing rate at all level. There is a critical mass point and the centralized companies will be forced to adapt.

Seize as individuals and a community.

Speaking of community building.

Don't know where account creation is going. Could become something just the real big boys can do.

See this post. The site at the end of the post works.

You probably have the Steem Power (RCs) to be claiming 5-6 discounted accounts per day. Might be worthwhile us good guys claiming a bunch and squirreling them away now - before the bad guys lay claim to them all.

Yes, I have to look into it and to understand how they can be used to transfer into accounts later. I would like to have a little store that I can give away to communities etc in the future somehow.

Thanks for the link :)

Takes a while to get you head around it but I would suggest you use the html download at the end. Check box 'Claim' only to start with. This is what uses RCs. Then when you want to create - check that box - enter new account name and the password.

Two little mice I know were able to successfully play around with it last week. Told me they will play some more next week.

Good to know, thanks for the cheese.

Hi, @tarazkp!

I'm in Tampere. Check your memos for further information.

Would be much, much easier on Discord :D

At the moment though we are trapped inside as our daughter is ill... :/

Ok. Discord is fine. Going there.

Greetings, @tarazkp.

Some avoid moving because they have a great [fear] of failure while others move despite that fear.

I think this summarizes the issue. I could not agree more. Of course, there are always isolated cases of people who get things handed to them, but ussually, even in those instances, you need to have the wit, courage, vision to accept the handed thing and use it and take it a step forward.

thanks for the word skip correct, fixed it now.

Of course, there are always isolated cases of people who get things handed to them, but ussually, even in those instances, you need to have the wit, courage, vision to accept the handed thing and use it and take it a step forward.

Even their opportunity came through other's doing the work somewhere though. Very rarely is there just blind luck in the world without the preparation for it to take root.

Truthfully things were still easier for you early adopters but I'll do my best to make the most of this

Definitely in some ways it was in others not quite. I came in the start of 2017 and a lot of the circles had already formed and were closing the majority out. I don't envy the newbies now but there is a long way to go forward still while so many focus on the past.

It takes people a while to discover the changes. In the same way that when a new road is built, for the first year its quiet and then people discover it.

I have been watching my posts that are soon to be paid out grow everyday. A good feeling, even though the price of STEEM is still relatively static.

The price of internal Steem is pretty low at the moment too which means that price grows and more steem is paid plus, there is a bit more in SBD which can be converted over to Steem too.

An 8 dollar that would get 4 SBD and 5 steem =10 Steemish

that is is now a 10 dollar payout.

A 10 gets 5 SBD and 6 Steem. 5 SBD buys 6 STeem =12 Steem

  • 20% on top of already cheap Steem is a good deal I think.

So true ... very good article. I’m trying to adjust and adapt

I love so much calm

Still catching up on my feed after waking up almost at noon! Can’t remember the last time I did that! I have been pleasantly surprised at the short term positive impact the Hard fork has had on the reward pool but somewhat concerned on the lack of new sign ups but I think that will take more time as coding the nee account creation seems to be more technical. I think the onboarding for new users should be intuitive which it is not which is where we should come in and provide support. I have always said that when opportunities arrive, “work hard now, ask questions later.” Hopefull more take this approach to take advantage of this opportunity available right now!

I believe that there is always risk when taking chances. I agree with your statement that those who adapt to the changing environment are the most successful. Opportunity is everywhere. Reach out and grab one, take that chance. See where it leads you. You just might be suprised!
