Very interesting questions. I think in my case it will be a mix of both... the power to transfer influence in order to bring certain projects to life is very important and i do support few projects here: @actifit, @steemhunt and @dlike as i did delegate some steem power to them. It is great to see this projects running on steem blockchain... and projects like this can attract people from outside steem eco-system.
But in the same time the voting power is important as well because it can be used to help and support new steemians and great blogs and posts with good quality content.
As a conclusion i think a balance between the two it will be the best way!😉

The voting power attracts me as once you have a sizeable amount of steem power you can upvote great steem blog posts that give value to the blockchain and new comers to steem and watch the Steem platform grow, and know that you played apart in this awesome blockchain.

First factor is voting power, it attracts everyone. But if the user just has huge voting power and treats everyone like trash, then they are better off in the long run.
Voting power with good ethics is my choice.

That's not actually how it works. There is no guarantee of one a day. in fact it currently takes a subscription level of ~23 SBI to achieve one upvote per day.
