HF-21: The SPS - a short animation
Ah, I love the smell of a good hardfork, don't you?
Unless you have been under a Steemit rock you will know that there is a hardfork a coming.
It's a bundle of changes and I can say I am relatively in favour of them all.
There is one aspect I disagreed with though, that was the source of the SPS funding.
It inspired this short animation.
All fun of course, it's not really going to kill us... Is it??
Steemit was under a rock for me. Now I’ve found it! I am aware of the hard fork though. I am unsure as to whether it will be a positive or a negative thing in the long run, as I don’t have a history of using steem to compare it to. I have faith that the people implementing the changes for everyone, are able to make these decisions due to working with the public and using their intellect to navigate what might best benefit the community. I find it hard to believe that anyone at all, rich or poor, can just not care about an investment.

That is a shortened convo, I suspect the answer to that last is a lot especially if you factor in the ones that don't actively run one probably delegate out their SP to one!!!
I think we are in quite broad agreement on all of the above, hehe!!

I've been thinking about that 10%. I wonder how much percentage of the reward pool went to bots each time someone wanted to promote their latest greatest biggest idea? Think about that. See where I'm going with it?

The last that I read diverge was that an estimated third of the reward pool went to bidbot boosted posts. I am sure the person said that was a conservative estimate. It seemed genuine because they attempted to correlate it with SP delegated to bots.

Yeah, so rather than 10% of the reward pool going to bidbots any time someone has a legit plan they want everyone to know about, now they have 10% allocated. So the way I'm seeing it, we're not losing a full 10%... confusing but I'm just trying to see the whole picture, past present future stuff, combined leeched value from the reward pool under current practices yadda yadda yadda. Basically now, if dipshit Jerry has another bright idea, we can downvote his dumbassery if it hits the trending page and if it hits the SPS, we can just laugh at him and not vote for it.
