So my good friend Clay has begun a campaign that prompted me to out myself....
...I am a steemmonsters addict.
Sigh, it's true. I was in total denial of my inner child, my inherent geekiness (you were right @frot), and now? Let's just say I am thoroughly invested in this too much fun steem based project.
But look at them, they're so cool! So many colors, and cartoons! And the sounds they make when you turn over the cards is just awesome, along with the anticipation- Will I get a legendary?
A dragon?
A gold?
Oh the anticipation!

And if you're immediately thinking to yourself I'm not into that kind of game play- I get it. I never have been either, and I'm not sure if I'm actually going to get in to the gaming aspect.
For now, I'm in it for collecting- because some of these cards are already worth some serious bucks.

He's also running a fundition campaign, and for as little as 25 dollars he will make a NPC (non-player character) inside the game based on you!

@clayboyn's game looks promising! I'm a bit strapped right now, but I'll try to square away some so that I could get a sweet sweet NPC modeled after me! Yes I am absolutely going to be in the game! It would be so cool if you, boom, and paul got in on this too! Fundition is a crypto based site, yep they take steem, that's what I used :)

Ah shoot! You don't say!? I must admit, I didn't explore Fundition as much as I should've. In that case, heading right over there now to be digitized! If it has my sis' stamp of approval, then you bet your ass I'm on it like brown on brown rice!
I don't have any of those new ones (yet) I got caught up in practicing music and had no time for card for a bit there. Are you going to have a character based on you in Clay's game?
I've been grabbing some betas here and there, but I definitely don't feel the same drive as I did with the alphas- at least at this point. Possibly because I have a bundle of alpha and beta packs coming with the kickstarter thing :)

Thanks for the support! It's certainly something new for me to undertake, but I'm having fun with it and I think I can make an RPG people will like. I've certainly played enough of them over the course of my life...

Aaaahhhh I think I remember Clay writing about this and thinking ooh cool another steem game (@holoz0r is making one as well but a silly one based on steem itself including the weird characters you can meet on it XD) but I was busy at the time and didn't look further in.
The game looks like it's going to be a lot of fun! I've actually been avoiding Steem Monsters as it's definitely something I would get addicted to. Aaargh XD

Clay told me about @holoz0r's game, I checked it out last night-- the rogue upgoats LOLOL!! But it sounds like he's not doing anything further at the moment with it.
Clay on the other hand is hard at work on this project. His game is fun already and it's still in its infancy, I'm excited to see where he takes it.
No kidding about the addiction, though I'm slightly less crazed now that the alpha packs are sold out...actually the truth is probably because I joined the kickstarter campaign and have 110 alpha packs coming my way, along with 50 bonus beta packs because they broke through another milestone on the fundraising and I got one of the big dog packages. I'm sure once some time passes after I open all of those, I'll be back at it!
If you do end up buying the starter kit (five bucks), I'll send you some alpha cards- the value of which could really rise now that they're no longer being made or sold, so let me know :)

Oh how cool! I use Discord now :) I have a few things to do, but I'll jump on their tonight at some point.
So the novella, as Jed pointed out, is a bit like an alternate universe. It was the original idea for the story, one that was going to be YA, and then obviously changed. But it's fun to see the characters beginnings, I think anyway :) Obviously if you decide to read it you'll blow right through it- since these chapters are about half the size, maybe even less, then the ones from the book.
I haven't forgotten about my project, I'm just doing insane levels of overtime at work at the moment! I'm very near to completing first few major quest story arc. If I was working on mine as much as I've been working my day job, I'd have created a 60 hour epic by now! :D
On the topic of Steem Monsters, there's just so much to see and do in that realm of things. It's getting very exciting, and taking part in battles is ... glorious. You're constantly learning new things!
Oh hey there :) I left a comment on your demo post yesterday. It is a super fun and hilarious idea you've got going. I totally get the 'not enough time in a day' aspect, I'm in the same boat with projects. Glad to hear you're going to continue though- feel free to drop a link to me when you're at it again! :)

I know, it's awesome! One of the things that kicks the most ass about this platform is having not only an outlet for our creativity, but inspiration for it- being surrounded by so much of that energy.

it's a lot to take in for sure, since I started my discord so much of my creativity is given away freely and i have to manage to keep some for myself. it's a matter of letting others around me to inspire and encourage, it's the key for me for sure and never easy, things move and change so quickly here it's a matter of adapting on the spot.
I did actually mean that in a positive way, lol, I should've worded that differently- 'it's a kickass platform' ;0) But it is true that you have to be careful to manage your time. There was a point where I spent so much time commenting and interacting that I had no time for my writing- now I found a balance :)
