My pleasure! :))

I wouldn't say I am making enough money right now, not consistently. But from time to time. And it becomes more and more often so I am into...wait for it, it's the most important part...

Not giving up and not losing momentum!

Whatever niche you try. Of course, it may just not be yours, I mean you might not like it. But if you do, keep on pushing. That's my philosophy. Which does not mean I am 100% capable of living up to it. But the percentage increases.

I am trying stock, now, too. A bit over two months and not much success but any success is a lesson, too. Failure is generally a lesson but not in this case - I don't learn enough from failing in stock. And time/effort return is amazingly low at the moment. But that has been true for everything I tried so far. It is hard to start. No momentum built yet.

Yeah, client work is absolutely important, it pays off the most in short-terms and since we need to pay bills short-term... One has to do it while experimenting with other things.

Hey buddy! I agree, Not giving up and not losing momentum! is the key for everything in life. Well, everything important at least.
I probably have to get more client work. But I have to figure out how, what, who, when, why first :D

Anyway. I keep working until I get there where I want to be. Even its tough, very tough!

Good part is, we're together in this mess noble endeavor.

Don't underestimate free work for good friends. Portfolio and personal contacts are much needed. After a few not very active years, still I have noticed that there's nothing in the way of advertisement, which works better than personal recommendations.

We have this saying - "Work for crazy's sake, but don't stay idle for crazy's sake." Or something like that. Lol...

I mean, a lot of crazy stuff I tried had some unpredictable outcome even months later.

Contacts. They must learn we're photographers and be reminded of that ;)

Oh for sure. I will do all of my first jobs for free. To get experience and get to know people and maybe be recommented to others.
You are right, Nr.1 this is getting contacts and make myself a "name" - Let's see how that turns out :D

Hello! Can you look photography my friend @swiatfotoobrazow?

Oh wow man! You must have been doing something wrong with those stock photos. I mean 5 bucks in 6 months is really weird. It does take a lot of time, effort and patience (just like Steemit :D) but you should have produced better results for sure. I have been contributing to SS for almost 2 years and the first months were super frustrating. But the sales were slowly increasing and since I reached the 500$ threshold (a couple of months ago) and thus upgraded to the second payment tier, it is been quite interesting... It was just a couple of days ago when one of my photos sold for 40 bucks in the "single & others" category. These unexpected sales are always exciting.

PS1: I have never owned a real camera and all my photos have been taken by a cell phone :D

PS2: You are much better, skilled and experienced photographer than me.

Considering all that, you must have been doing something wrong ;) Maybe key words or titles - these two things are super important...

Hey Buddy!

Uff, So it really is possible as it seems. May I ask what kind of photos you sell? And a single photo sold for 40$ - That's impressive! I always thought they all go for 0.25 cent. Are you only using shutterstock? Or different websites?

Thanks for the info, very valuable. I will not delete my account yet, as you just showed me that its indeed possible.

And yes, maybe my titles and tags just suck :D

Hey buddy, I mostly upload travel stuff - if you are on Steem chat, I can send you link to my portfolio ;) 25 cents is the very lowest (yet most common) price - there are different tiers and differert categories in which the photos can be bought. It really is important to pay attention to the title and key words - always make sure to use the maximum capacity for both and try to come up with words that the customers are likely to search for.

I'm not on steem chat yet - I'll try to hit you up on the weekend! I think my keywords are alright as I used 45-50 but my titles might just suck. I will try to go over them again. It's funny, a few hours after I published this article I had 2 more sells, Yay! haha. Thanks for helping me out here, highly appreciate it!

Ok, we can talk about that on SteemChat once you open an account there :) Btw, Julian @jpphotography has much more experience with stock photography and he also wrote a very interesting post about it some time ago ;)

wow thats amazing Petr. I should check my Accounts again as well. I´m the same, I only made like 2$ so far. But haven´t spent too much time there. Will have to check this again. But 40 for one shot is crazy!

Like I already wrote above, it does take tons of your time, energy and patience but if you really put the effort in it, it will slowly starts to pay off. Once your portfolio is big enough and you get regular sales, it can be a good way of passive income too. But it can take years. Depends of various things :)

Thank you so much for your kind words @olivia08. I really do appreciate them and value them very high.
And I agree - Everything is possible if we just work hard enough for our dreams. I'm ready!
Thanks! :))

Other potential sources of income are sites that pay you via crypto for views and likes. I am aware of two such sites: supload and file.army. I think volume gets you more than quality at sites like that but if you are posting to steemit anyway you might as well host or link to your pictures there.

Interesting. I've never heard of both of them. I will have a look later on - Thanks for mention it!

Those websites don't seem to be working, clearly. But yes, you could do a lot better with your very own website where you would know what exactly people want and how not to disappoint your users.

Also, the website looks pretty cool,300$ is a little extra but good things take time and money, I hope this pays you off big time, good luck

I've tried Alamy and Dreamstime - waste of time. Shutterstock: 312 photos portfolio have made 4.5 $ in 5 months. It is a slow-dripping passive income after uploading it once. I would leave it on Shutterstock regardless of bulding a website - as long as there is no exclusivity wanted, it can run along. Adding to portfolio on the way. There are also project like Photochain https://photochain.io/# i guess they're testing a beta, would be interesting to see how it'll roll out. Want to find the way to earn on photography myself, didn't get far yet.

Yeah It's quite difficult, right? But yeah, as I know a bit more about it now (thanks for your comment guys) - I might just leave them online and go more into details and re-edit some of the pictures I already have online. I'll have a look at the Website you posted - Thanks for that!
